I purchased this 1962 Corvette two top car in 1968. It was missing the convertible top, package tray and Fuel Injection unit.
I purchased a new 1962 Fuel Injection long block from General Motors. This engine came with no serial numbers. Also, bought a new Edelbrock two 4 barrel manifold and equipped it with two new Chev 409 4 barrel carbs. Bought a new Mallory distributor, new Schiefer clutch, pressure plate with a ten pound aluminum flywheel. Later installed a Stewart Warner electric fuel pump just below the gas tank. The engine ran on 105 octane leaded gas. I just tested the engine and it turned over.
I had the intake manifold, valve covers, and overflow tank polished. Bought new rims and tires. The rims are US Mag (14 x 7 front and 15 x 8 rear). I flipped the rear leaf springs to accommodate the larger tire size.
The front license plate holder and plate has been removed. I still have them and they will come with the car. I will include an extra package tray
I drove the car until 1976. I decided to place the car in storage. I had the gas tank removed and cleaned out. Placed a car cover on the car and it has been garaged since.
There are some car damages. The driver side window has a couple cracks in it. The left bottom side of the front grille has a puncture hole the size of a quarter just below it. The left headlight bezel has a dent in it. I will include a replacement bezel. Paint has some scratches. I believe the car has never been wreck and a Southern California car all it's life.
In Feb 2016, I registered the car for one year in California.
