I now really want to sell my 2000 Chev Blazer! I bought it brand new as a leftover in 2001. It just turned 41K miles a few days ago. I have put 99% of those miles on it but my wife has driven it a few times over the years. At least half (or more) of the miles are highway miles.
I'm selling because I bought a 7 passenger van now that I have 3 grandchildren. This only seats 5 but less with car seats! If I hadn't needed the van more than this, I would just keep it...
It is a V-6 stick shift 2 wheel drive with positraction. It is very original. I let it sit over the winter once and the brakes rusted badly so all 4 rotors and their brake pads were replaced back then. The gas struts on the rear window and tailgate have been replaced since they went bad over the years. It is on its 4th or 5th set of wiper blades too! I had to put a new starter in it due to rust in the starter.
It has never been involved in a crash and has no body damage or rust. There are many small chips and imperfections in the paint but no paint repair work. The plastic on the exterior has weathered some, mostly the tail lights and the black trim on the rear.
It was struck by lightning in 2010. The components with computer chips in them were blown. My insurance company had the dealer replace all of the computers and the radio. The body control module, the anti-lock brake control module and the engine control module are what they changed. It had 32K on it when that happened. In the 6 years and 8K miles since, there have been no issues. The bright side of the lightning strike is that the computers should last even longer than the vehicle. Also, it should be one of the safest places to be in the event of a lightning storm since lightning never strikes twice in the same place!!!
The interior is in excellent condition. No rips, tears, stains or other issues. I have mostly kept the rear seats folded down. The dash is excellent with no cracks or imprints. All of the lights and gauges work. The fuel gauge has become suspect recently though. It does not seem to be accurate now so I just fill it up every 2 - 3 hundred miles to be safe. I don't know if the low fuel light comes on because I don't let it get low enough to see.
The air conditioning works great! All of the windows are in great shape and operate as expected. No cracks in any glass. The hood release lever has disconnect from the cable in the cabin. I use a pliars to pull the cable to open the hood.
The vehicle has a class 3 receiver and I tow my jet ski with it. The is a flat four connector for the lights on a trailer.
You might think that my start price is high but if you look at what others want for their Blazers with a zillion miles on them, my price is reasonable for a car with only 41K miles on it. The other thing to keep in mind is how many miles other people get out of their Blazers! They are trying to sell them for serious money even with 200 plus K miles... If you want to get more while spending less, this is for you!
Pick up only but we can meet within a reasonable distance. I can pick you up at the airport, bus station, etc. This car with get you back home!
A down payment of $500 via Paypal and the remainder in cash or USPS money order is required within 7 days. The title will be released only after payment had cleared.
I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as this vehicle is advertised locally too!
