He is extremely picky about his cars and is fastidious with maintenance. detailing and care to his vehicles. He is available to discuss the car and I will be happy to pass his number on to perspective buyers. DESCRIPTION Corvette Stingrays never go out of style and when they are as cool as this 1966 Sunfire Yellow Roadster it’s easy to understand why. The 1966 example featured here is an astounding specimen that has been through a sympathetic restoration of a very original and low mileage survivor. This gorgeous little Yellow Corvette was originally optioned with a 327-300 hp Motor. nbsp; an M-20 Four-Speed and an AM/FM Radio. I do not believe the hard-top came with the car originally. but it is in nice condition with some discoloration and light scratches to the rear window. It is slightly off on color but barely noticeable. The car was originally from California and has always been here. This is a solid #2 Show/Driver Quality Car. The body. paint. top. glass. gauges. chrome and interior and engine bay are truly to #2 stats. During the restoration. the original 300HP engine was top end restored in 2002 and roughly 1000 miles ago. The car simply runs AWESOME. probably the nicest running 300 horse car I have ever driven. The mechanicals on this car are awesome and it drives just like a NON-Body-Off low mileage car should feel. This is the way to buy. own and enjoy driving a Corvette. If you like the looks of a show car without the astronomical price then this may be the ticket for you. The body on this car is dead nuts straight and was without doubt a virgin body before it was repainted. There are no signs up underneath the body of any repairs to the original glass. The body seams on the front fenders are all intact under the wheel wells on both sides. Only the original molds can produce the crisp and exactly lip around the rear end of the car and this one is perfectly executed. It has a slightly older single stage paint of the original Sunfire Yellow. It was obviously color sanded as there is no orange peel in the paint. The finish is mirror-like and in excellent condition. The car was painted around 2002 but has been driven about 1000 miles since and has always been kept in a Southern California garage with a cover over it. The thing that struck me when I first saw this car was how perfectly original the paint looked. I really thought it was the original paint because the jambs all looked original and I couldn’t really see any tape lines. Because it is single stage it just has that real lacquer appearance to it. If you like the way they looked out of the factory and you know the difference. you will love this car. The Chrome on the car looks like it was redone when the paint was applied and is very high quality. The car is sporting a new set of narrow white wall Michelin X tires that look just right in brand new condition. Adding to the car’s amazing cosmetics is the completely original interior with a replacement carpet. The seats. doors. dash. glovebox and glass is in phenomenal survivor shape. The passenger seat has one seam separation in the seat panel (see picture). I suspect this was originally the driver seat and was swapped over during the carpet install to stop the wear. There is just nothing quite like the original materials in these cars. the reproduction seats do not have the same texture and quality feel of the originals. I would call this interior an 8. 5 out of 10 on the normal scale and a 9. 4 on the Survivor Scale only due to the seam separation. The gauge cluster is gorgeous and all gauges work as they should. The top is like brand new and was replaced around the time the paint was done. Note. in the pictures of the top that it is a little crinkly. because it had not been up in years as the hard top has been on the car for quite some time. A day in the sun and it will be wrinkle free. The rear window is clear and scratch free. The undercarriage is in excellent original condition. and you will note the front end is all completely rebuilt with the addition of new shocks all around. It is very clean. very original with no signs of any rust or repairs anywhere on it. The front end bushings look to have been completely replaced and the car drives straight down the road at 75-80 with no hands on the wheel. It brakes excellent and pads are like new. wheel cylinders and lines are like new. The exhaust was completely replaced and has some nice sounding mufflers. sounds a little like the factory off road exhaust. It has a nice throaty rumble without being ridiculously loud. It sounds just right. The body is in phenomenal original condition and up on the lift all panels are original and intact with no signs of repair. The right front fender has a minor flaw in the paint. looks slightly irregular and you can only see it if the light is reflecting on it in just the right way. I tried to take a close-up picture but it just does not show up well. When you scroll down in the pictures it is the picture just after the two wheel pictures. I would call the body on this car nearly “perfect”. All shut lines are solid (for a Corvette) and certainly within NCRS standards. When I took the pictures the driver side headlight looks slightly down in the pictures and I did notice that the stop in the right headlight is not working. so when the right headlight is aligned the driver side is just slightly down. creating a small gap. The headlight motors work very well but the stop in the right side needs to be fixed. Highlights: - Full body strip and respray sometime around 2002. - New Sunfire Yellow PPG single stage paint. great fit and finish - New Black carpet - Original 327/300HP. original tuned and outstanding - Original Muncie M20 4-speed - All gauges. lights and accessories work. All numbers are matching and have been verified. The car is simply stunning. If you are looking for a car to DRIVE and enjoy. SHOW at local and regional type of events then this car may just be the ticket for you. Everything on this little gem is exceptional. It drives and rides like a dream. The only small issues are the ones I mentioned. Just as a matter of reference. I have been judging cars at all types of show levels for over 25 years and have extensive experience in restoration of many makes of cars. I am extremely picky and probably grade more on the lower side when evaluating vehicles. I would consider a 10 on my scale to be a Concour Quality vehicle. just so you have a reference. This car is a VERY high quality motorcar. it is a very strong #2 car. This would be a very easy car to take to a #1 level if a new buyer was so inclined. This car will show very well at the highest form of automobile judging as it sits.
