Description

1949 Chevrolet 5 Window Pickup First and foremost. if you have less than 10 transactions or negative feedback you must contact me prior to bidding or you bid will be cancelled. Just send me an email letting me know you are indeed a real person and understand that if you are the high bidder at the auctions end you are expected to pay for the truck. My wife asked me if I would ever sell my black '49 I said "No way. unless something shinier or rustier comes along that I can't live without. " Enter my "new" 1960 Impala Sport Coupe. Since I hijacked our entire tax return to buy it. I have to sell my beloved truck. Trust me I've tried everything to keep it. scratch tickets haven't paid off and kidneys aren't going for what you'd think. So here it is for someone else to enjoy as much as I did. I bought this truck about 3 years ago. The man I bought it from purchased it from the man that built it. The builder was an old school hot rodder and body man by trade. I have since added my personal touch to it (wheels. interior. bed wood. cleaned and dressed up the engine. lights. glass etc). The body is so straight that this truck could be prepped in one weekend and painted in the next or you can add your shop logo to the doors and drive it as is. The panel gaps are perfect an the doors open and shut great. The fenders have been sectioned somehow to raise the wheel well 1 1/2 inches. If you know these trucks you can see it. but if you park it next to another one of the same year its obvious. Either way you'll agree that it looks awesome. The only thing better than the way it looks is the way it drives. It's an awesome example of a no frills. bad ass. nbsp;classic hot rod. This truck has the perfect stance and attitude for days. You can hop in it and drive it anywhere without any worries. I drive this truck an hour to work at 75 mph regularly. Even as low as it sits I've never had any issues with it scraping. The truck sits on an original frame with a Pontiac Firebird front clip and a 10 bolt rear end with Firebird leaf springs out back. The truck has front disc and rear drum brakes. The gas tank is located under the bed with a lockable fuel door in the bed floor. The engine is a 1970 Pontiac 400 with an Edelbrock intake. Edelbrock electric choke carb. Crane Cams roller rockers. headers and HEI distributor. It's backed up by a smooth shifting Turbo 400. The truck runs cool regardless of the weather thanks to the way the builder installed the radiator. The hood has had vents put in under the front hood emblem which lead through the hood latch panel to the radiator. If you werent looking for this mod. you'd never know it was there. See the pictures for what this looks like. The cowl vent opens and closes flawlessly. The cab's corner windows are original. but the rest of the glass and all of the rubber seals are brand new and have been professionally installed. The wing windows still need the seals installed. but brand new ones are included with the truck. Other brand new items include: the tailgate. tail lights. Torq Thrust D wheels. valve covers. air cleaner. windshield chrome. gas tank. bed wood. bed strips. steering wheel. window regulators and interior door and window knobs. The original gauge glass is still in the dash. but not the gauges. Another gauge cluster (probably from the donor Pontiac) is tucked up and installed behind the glass with a working fuel gauge and speedometer. There is a 3 gauge cluster mounted to the bottom of the dash with the temp. oil pressure and volts gauges. I have attached a youtube video link of the truck driving showing the speedometer and gauges working. All of the lights. and turn signals work properly as well making this a fully street legal truck. The floor is covered by insulation and a thick foam rubber mat. formed to fit the floor over the transmission tunnel. The door panels were an idea given to me by my tattoo artist. They are Sailor Jerry tattoo flashes laquered to provide protection from the elements. The seat is a split back. foldable bench seat. covered by a Mexican blanket. If I was to keep this truck there are a few things I'd fix. The body has a few chips and dings that I would fix before painting. the wing window seals (as mentioned before). the glove box door needs to be adjusted to latch perfectly and I would install an electric wiper motor (the old vacuum motor and rods are still under the dash). I have a new in box chrome grille that I had purchased for this truck. I planned on installing it after I painted it. but the patina chrome grille that is on it now looks better with the satin black paint. If the buyer wants. I can install the new chrome grille for an additional $400 on top of the winning bid. Your choice. This truck has a clean and clear North Carolina title. I am proud of my 100% feedback and strive to keep it that way. Bid with confidence as I am sure you will love this truck as much as I have. Study the pictures carefully and feel free to ask any and all questions you might have. I always write novels in my descriptions because it is what I expect when purchasing a vehicle online. but I am sure I forgot something. I can take more or specific pictures upon request. I will be posting more videos of the truck so check back often. A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auctions end. I prefer cash in person. but will accept a postal money order. Full payment of the vehicle is due within 7 days. The vehicle must be picked up or shipped within 10 days. The buyer is responsible for shipping. but I can and will help the shipper load the truck. I am not interested in any trades. my wife would literally kill me.
