For sale is my 68 Convertible Camaro. I have owned this for 26 years and am the 3rd owner. It is virtually rust-free. It was an original 350 base Camaro. The engine is a 427 Big Block motor built by legendary engine builder. Dale Jones. It was built to 69' L-88 specs and has 495 horsepower and 500 ft lb of torque. We lowered the compression down to 10:1 so it runs on premium pump fuel. It has the large D-Port Iron Heads. It has a solid lifter L-88 Cam with Aluminum Rocker Arms and head porting down. Tuned Edelbock Carb. This engine is absolutely a fast revving beast that redlines at 7600RPM's. I have shifted it at 7400 when running it at the track. 1/4 mile time is low 12's on street tires. Exhaust is Hooker Chromed headers that are still beautiful. and dual chambered Flowmasters. It has a newly purchased Tremec T56 6 speed transmission conversion. Rear end is a bulletproof. custom built 8 3/4" with an incredible custom built posi unit. Power Disc front and large drums in the rear make it stop really well! The car is painted 86 IROC blue and has matching painted and polished IROC Camaro rims. Tires have 80% tread. RS headlight conversion and electric vacuum pump give it great power brakes and headlight door activation. The paint looks fabulous at 10 ft back but has gotten a few little dings and chips over the years. This car has always been garaged and has no rust anyplace that I have found. I will try to add under carriage pics. Floor boards and rockers are all rust free. I believe this car came from Arizona or Southern CA. Top looks great but has a small repaired tear on the Passenger side. Color and rear window in top are in great shape. The roll bar is a high quality. Competition Engineering one that is professionally modified/welded but could be unbolted. I put this in so I could run it on the track. It has Recaro Seats and 5 point Simpson harnesses. Suspension was all rebuilt and is lowered 1 1/2" and has a large front sway bar added for great handling. Rear suspension is the monoleaf with a custom Ladder bar for traction. Hooks up very well. This car is a bad to the bone animal that has very good street manners. but will tear it up at the track if you want. I built this to be an occasional daily driver/fun car. Its not original or numbers matching. but a car you would not be afraid to take out and drive.
