2003 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD Sport Utility POLICE MODEL 4-Door 4.8LV8, 163K Miles

2003 CHEVROLET TAHOE 4WD POLICE PACKAGEI purchased this 4 Wheel Drive 5 Passenger Tahoe about 3 1/2 years ago and have put about 70K miles on it since. It has been extremely reliable and great in the snow. It handles very well on the highway or side streets. Push Button FOUR WHEEL DRIVE has 2 High. 4 Low and 4 High Settings. I am a retired law officer and like driving these vehicles. It was a Law Enforcement National Park Service Ranger vehicle in the Shenandoah National Park cruising up and down Skyline Drive. The Police Package on this truck consists of extra cooling on the engine and transmission. a Spotlight (works). Front Push Bar. Privacy Tint. ABS 4 wheel disc brakes with oversize pads. Auto light shut-off (if you leave the any lights on. even inside dome lighting. they automatically shut off ten minutes after the car is locked). the vinyl rubber flooring and back deck (no carpets). cloth bucket front seats. (driver side is electric) and vinyl rear 60/40 split seats that fold flat. nbsp; No third row seats. The vinyl floor has been great for tubing and kayaking with the grandchildren and the police wave to me. There are no driving issues. This truck has been well maintained. I have used only Mobil 1 full synthetic oil since I owned it with regular oil and filter changes. The computer even tells you when to change oil. There are no check engine or any other check lights on. All lights work. It has daytime running lights. fog lights. high and low beam and the spotlight. All electronics work. Air Conditioning front and auxiliary rear blows very cold. Heat front and auxiliary heat rear blows hot. The rear heat and A/C can be controlled from front or rear seats. Onboard computer indicates when service is due. such as low washer fluid. oil change. etc. It has electric windows. electric locks with remote that controls all five doors (you can unlock either only the driver door or all five doors with it). nbsp; Car alarm is automatically set when doors are locked. AM/FM Stereo with cassette. no CD player. No onboard GPS. I had a new exhaust system installed 3 months ago from the catalytic converter all the way back. I had 4 new tires installed. with Nitrogen fill. at 164339 miles with lifetime balancing at Walmart. You will get the paperwork. I also had new brakes pads installed on the parking brake at that time. All four wheels have had new pads installed within the past six months. Has a full size spare. I put in an aftermarket center console with cup and sunglass holders. The truck is ready to use. I would have no hesitation to drive it across the country. There is no body rust. Only surface rust underneath. nothing serious. There are some small marks where the body shop removed the national park stickers but only visible up close. The paint is shiny. There are three plugged antenna holes on the roof. The two inch cut on the right rear seat. see close-up pic. was there when I bought it and has not changed. I just never got around to having it repaired. Rear cloth seats or seat covers that match the factory seats are available on EBAY. I liked the vinyl for kids. It is easy to clean.
