For auction/purchase is this 4-door, push-button automatic 1962 Chrysler Newport in good running order. I have a clear Missouri title in my name. I have owned the car for just under 3 years and am parting with it to make room for two other projects. I am, to my knowledge, the 3rd owner.
Mechanically:It runs well and has current plates. It is driven several times per month to keep it active. Tuned up and maintained. No leaks or mechanical issues, except that if it hasn't been run for a while, it needs alot of gas pumping to start or just a hit of starter fluid. Recent work includes a new master cylinder, all new rubber fittings on the brake lines, brake pads and drums turned, a new oil pan gasket, new distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and wires, transmission line filter, just to name a few.
Exterior:Rust - There is no rust on this car; it was all cleaned out and the bad metal was professionally replaced with proper metal.Paint - She just got a new paint job at the end of April (three layers: base coat; 50/50 base/clear coat mix; and clear coat final layer). It was not a frame-off job, but the doors were removed and all chrome was removed for it. Exterior Trim - The chrome/metal trim all the way around on the outside is good to excellent. The front and rear bumpers have some scratches and fading.Lights - All function as they should. I also have a spare set of new, reproduction rear tail lights, not installed.Hub Caps - These are present, correct, and in good shape,Glass - All glass is good, without any damage.
Electronics:Lights - All lights, inside and out, work as they should. Controls - All dash controls work as well, except for the antenna switch, and two switches where were for options that the car never had. Gauges - All gauges work.Radio - Also, the radio does not work, but I have a spare radio (from same make/model/year of car) that was advertised as "working when removed from car," but I cannot confirm that as I never installed it.
Interior: This is the one downside to the car. The interior requires restoration, but I have done most of the prep work. Rust - I pulled the headliner (the ribs are still with the car), the carpet, and the seats to ensure we got all the rust and replaced what metal needed it (floor pans, trunk floor, primarily). Seats - The seats are present but will need to be redone. The front seat is worn through and losing padding. The rear seat is threadbare and has a few small splits, but is serviceable. Door Panels - The old door panels are present but in only moderate condition.Interior Trim - Also, all of the interior metal trim is present and in good repair, but most of it will need to have surface rust removed and some of it will need to be repainted (the trim that needs paint was all flat black, originally).Handles - All door/window handles work properly. Those not shown in the pictures (including the grips on the door panels) ARE present and will come with the car.Dash/Pad - There is one split in the dash pad, but it can be repaired; the pad is in very good condition otherwise. The dash board it self is in good condition, with the "sputnik" dome being a good example of its kind.Seat Belts - Front seat only, installed.Weatherstripping - It requires new weatherstripping, because of having been painted recently.
A small amount of minor spare parts comes with the car. All parts listed above not attached to the car will be packaged carefully and placed in the trunk for shipment. The rear seat will be reinstalled prior to it leaving.
The photos are from the first week of June, 2016.
Car is for sale locally, so this auction may end early if purchased here. As usual, the buyer is responsible for coordinating and paying for shipping. Please contact me for any questions. Thank you.
