Description

This is an auction for a 1978 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY LeBaron woodie Station Wagon. The engine is a 360 4-barrel. The overall condition is excellent, barely any visible rust as it was stored in a garage for over 30 years. The mileage is very low, 84,000 {84,162 to be exact} . The interior is near mint. The factory label on drivers door says car was built 4-1978. This car features the super rare WOODEN SPOKED {which are period dating from 1978, each of the wood spokes is stamped WOODSPOKE COPYRIGHT 1978 WEST WHEEL and A-15 on reverse, some naysayers were trying to say these were a later addition by some handy man type, you can see other fotos of this same wooden spoke wheel on a restored 1954 Chevy truck elsewhere online} rims, made of real wood and is virtually unheard of, at least I could not find another single car with these rims, anywhere on the internet {well, I did fine one single foto of a close-up of this exact wooden rims, on a restored 1930's era car}. The wood has been restored on the rims {after these fotos}, the chrome plating {on rims} needs some help, surface issues. This car was 1 owner before I purchased the car and I have not driven more than 100 miles. This car was never in an accident, no repairs, no putty, etc. All gas, transmission fluid and oil has been drained and replaced {since the car was stored so long without driving}. The car runs excellent. New battery and new air shocks for back hatch. The fotos you see of the interior is how I found it, no restoration done, same with the exterior, this is how the car was found, no restoration or cleaning done. I will add a couple fotos after I clean up the exterior. The difficulties are, one wind shield wiper does not work, can't find replacement part., also, the speedometer link needs replacing. The antenna for the radio powers up when you turn on the radio. Power front seats, manual windows. Dash looks mint, see fotos. Cruise control. Air conditioning. All interior lights work and there are a lot, looks like a show room at night, I'll add a foto of this later. All doors, back hatch open and close perfect. There is included the original roof rack. All of the woodie siding is present, some fading. All the faux wood trim is present, all emblems are present. This is a great car for any Chrysler or woodie enthusiast. This car is solid and is the shorter version of the earlier 70's wagons. The interior may be leather, not sure, I'll check closer ****UPDATE, INTERIOR IS FACTORY LEATHER****. Also 2 other UPDATES, the floor matts are also factory original, also, the tires are the white walls with the extra gold pin stripe, which I have been told is hard to find also. Also, all chrome plating, other than on rims, is excellent. The original owner tried to get every possible option and went above and beyond and ordered the wooden spokes. ***UPDATE, the wood rims are factory made, solid wood and period, meaning 1978, and add exceptional ambience and intrigue.. UPDATE, the ENGINE is the original 1978 from the factory. *UPDATE, I just added a few more fotos, still looking for the info plate on engine. The one info plaque {inside fender well} is full of what appears to be a bunch of useless number gibberish, maybe someone can make heads or tails of it. Also, heater works great, radio works great as well as speakers. I have not tried AC, it's already freezing around here, but will see if it works. Passed smog today. If the car sells, I will be a little slow to respond for the first 2 days. There are MOPAR stickers in a few locations. ***UPDATE, yes, there are rear speakers which work great, car has the extra tow/radiator capacity, ALSO, the code on the back of the factory made WOODEN SPOKES is A-15 and the wood spokes are a single piece of wood, not made like the ones from the 1930's and earlier, which factory made these, I am not sure, no one seems to be certain about these. Email with any questions or answers.
