Up for auction is a 1948 Chevy 5-Window pickup truck. This Chevy 5-window has been a well maintained farm truck for the past 20 years and it runs, ides, rives, nd brakes very well.

The engine is a 216c.i. 6-cylinder. We just put the motor in the truck a few weeks ago and it starts right up and will run all day like a sewing machine. It has great oil pressure and the engine is strong with absolutely ZERO Blow BY (look at the video and the motor was up to temperature!)… There was no sludge in the motor when we got it. The motor was checked completely and got all new gaskets, 5/40 oil, ew plugs and wires, nd such… The radiator system was flushed, leaned and pressure tested. This truck is dependable. The engine came out of 35,000 original mile pickup. The truck has been converted to a 12-volt system also. We lubed the front end and replaced any missing bolts and tightened all bolts. This old 48 rides down the road real nice and it is a blast to cruise around in. The transmission is the 3-speed on the column with reverse… stays in gear and shifts perfectly…45-50mph is top speed. (Just like they were back in the day)… All of the lights work. The fuel gauge works however it runs out of gas at a quarter tank on the gauge… (I found out the hard way). The speedometer does not work. (Don’t worry you won’t be getting any speeding tickets… ha-ha). The truck steers straight and true and it brakes well; it’s a good honest old pickup truck.

The body is pretty good and with nice old patina paint. These trucks, nd in particular with old patina paint, ave really gained popularity over the past few years and this one is no exception, s it draws attention wherever it goes.

The trim and bright work around the glass is really in exceptional condition and the glass is in good shape as well. It has aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich radial TA.s 215/70r15’s all the way around. It has a newer wood bed, ewer exhaust, nd it has dyno mat sound and heat barrier in the cab on the firewall, eadliner and under the floor mat.

As stated above this is just a good old honest farm truck that you can drive and enjoy any and every day if you want to without breaking the bank.

Overall the body is pretty good and all steel including the running boards. If you are picky please come look and drive PRIOR TO placing your bid!! If you bid on the truck please don’t come here and pick it apart as it is not a show truck. COME LOOK FIRST!
