1996 Corvette LT4 6 Speed Manual Collectors Edition

1996 Chevrolet Corvette LT-4 Collector Edition with the ZF 6-speed manual transmission. The 1996 Collector Edition is designated as the Z15 option package. The LT4 engine is often referred to as the Gran Sport engine. This 330 horsepower, igh performance engine was only available in 1996 Corvettes equipped with the six speed manual transmission. It’s exclusive to the 1996 Gran Sport models, ollector Editions and specially ordered manual transmission 1996 Corvettes. LT4 equipped Corvettes can be distinguished by an 8000 rpm tachometer with a red-line at 6300 rpms.

The High Output LT-4 features a multitude of distinct performance advantages over the standard LT1 Corvette engine. These features include a more aggressive cam with matched roller rockers, ollow valve stems and high performance valve springs. The high compression ratio of 10.8:1 is handled by a race type cast iron crankshaft. Externally, he LT-4 engine is easy to identify. LT4 specific appearance features include a red intake manifold, ed coil and spark plug wires, Corvette” lettering in red on the valve covers and red “Grand Sport” lettering on the throttle-body cover.

Chevrolet built 21,536 Corvettes in 1996. Of those, here were 1,540 Collector Edition Coupes produced having an LT-4/350ci/ 330hp Grand Sport engine coupled to the ZF 6-speed manual transmission.
