Description

I am thinking about selling my 63 Daytona blue Corvette. It has 327, -speed and has had power steering and front disc brakes added. It has had the original frame replaced with a "new" frame made in USA, rom original GM tooling. It only shows 171 miles since the dash was completely refurbished by Corvette Central and frame replaced in 2011. Yes, nly 171 miles in last four years! This is "not" a numbers matching NCRS car. It is an exceptional example of a 1963 Corvette. It has older, ew reproduction knock-off wheels. These are not the bolt-on type. This car has had new carpeting, oor panels, ompletely restored dash gauges, ew repro glove box door, as tank, pare tire tub, uartz clock, rake lines, as line, uspension parts and more. Too many new parts to list. Glove box doors were fiberglass on the 63 models only and are very expensive. I also have a reproduction Teak steering wheel on the car now which will be replaced with stock steering wheel. Teak steering wheel can be bought separately if desired. I can't begin to list all that was done, t needs to be seen. I am making no representations as to this over 50 year old car. Comes with a binder full of receipts from past owners. I may consider trade of restored 1970 Chevelle, nd only a 1970. Car is for sale locally. If interested I will consider "Buy it now" offers. I can also put you in touch with gentleman who did all the work on the car since I have had it. He is seen in one of the pics. Trim tag decodes as Build date of July 1963, eek three, .O. Smith body, 963 convertible, aytona Blue, inyl trim, lue, M-FM radio. This auction may end early if a trade comes along! Inspections are welcome, nd encouraged, rior to bidding! I have had a question with regards to vin tag being riveted. I don't know about that. I bought this car in 2010 from a teacher in Illinois. I was told it came out of Chicago. Upon getting it I had local mechanic check it out. He found serious rust issues with the frame and we decided upon a "new" frame. He did all the resto work. I am 66 years old and looking to get back into a Chevelle. I had a 72 when I returned from Viet Nam. Always wanted a 70. I want to be perfectly honest about this car. It has had almost everything replaced mechanically. I have receipts for over $8000.00 in parts and labor from Yesterday's Chevrolets, ot counting $6000.00 for the new frame, r all the items I bought off Ebay. Aluminum manifold, efurbished carb, efurbished gauge cluster, nbsp;interior door panels, arpeting, rm rests, love box door, ew horns and more than I care to remember. It sounds, rives, nd handles great. Again it is "not" an NCRS candidate. I aim to be strictly above board. I'm too old be any different. I have a clear Missouri title, nd car had to be ID/OD, here vin# was checked before getting it since car came from out of state. Thanks for looking! On Nov-28-15 at 08:00:39 PST, eller added the following information:

I was asked about the engine in the car. The last picture I have posted shows it the way it was when I bought it, inus thealuminumvalve covers. It had the orange metal 300hp ones.

As I said before, his is how I purchased the car i 2010 minus all the work I had to have done. I am not trying to hide "anything"! If I was why would I post pictures of the Trim and vin tags. I did some research after your first contact and found there are many cases where vin tags have come loose, nd been reattached. I don't know! I do know my car is a knockout! It is listed as "not" numbers matching. It is over 52 years old, t has a clean Missouri title now, nd it had a clean Illinois title when I bought it in 2010. It had to be verified by state since it was coming from another state. I have a binder full of past receipts from prior owners with maintenance records from the 90's along with a couple of pics with owner in the car. So please do not question my honesty! The car is open for inspection anytime as I am retired. Once again thanks for your enlightenment! Ed Also why can I not post my response to you on my listing?

Dear edsvet,
Judging by your response I will assume the car has an altered VIN plate. You should be more Honest in your description as this seriously affects the cars value not to mention problems in shipping the vehicle out of the country or registering it in some states .

Wow! Thanks so much for your comments. I do not live and breathe Corvette. I wanted a nice dependable car. Hence it has power steering, nd power brakes added. I was told frame had some issues, nd after looking at some used frames, ecided to get a new, ade in America frame specifically for 63 convertible. I have a ton of money in this car and realize you never get it back. It really is unnerving to have someone accuse you of being dishonest. It is a ca. A nice car. Not a perfect car, ut from what I've seen out there a very nice car that turns heads at the local cruise which is where I go. By the way I had a 65 SS Chevelle before I went to Viet Nam. Loved that car! Thanks again! Ed

Dear edsvet,
Hi, was the guy who offered you a trade for my '65 malibu ss when you had it listed on craig's.I just want to comment on the quality resto on your car, hese idiot and "numbers" perfection guy, ont know what it takes to do a total resto to the standard your car is.These corvette "underwearers" only care about the correct rivets used on a trim tag, hen accuse you of dishonesty and insult your integrity! They are so corvette correct they will purchase at top dollar a survivor with the correct location of trim tags, usted out bird cage just to say its factory original!! Now I dont know about you, ut for me, crooked trim tag with wrong rivets, nd new frame, ut/bolt resto is for me! I drive my cars, snt this what they were made for? ITS NOT A $100,000. NCRS CAR PEOPLE!! Thanks,~Mark

A couple of the pics show the car with engine as I bought it with dual snorkel air breather. I did add the aluminum valve covers in this pic. It came with orange steel covers. Another pic shows the original dash. Again I purchased a freshly restored complete dash cluster as seen in one of the pics.
