For those who weren't teenagers or young adults in the 1960s, reverb probably doesn'tmean anything to you. Perhaps if you play guitar and own an amp with a reverb switch, ou'dknow what it does. Here's a basic rundown of the reverb concept. Making stereo radios was an expensive proposition for automobiles in the 1960s. It was the premium factory offering when it was available. Not many buyers opted for it because it was so expensive. A less costly alternative was reverb. This was short for reverberator. This was an electronic device added to the receiver designed to electrically delay the signal from the radio to rear speaker created the illusion of a stereo signal. In essence it added a depth to the recording, lmost like a concert hall with a bit of echo in it.
