1965 Porsche 912

In 1964 and 1965 Porsche® produced both the legendary 356 and the evolutionary 911 ("Type 901") models. Concurrently, ith input from dealers and enthusiasts, actory engineers designed a "Type 902" variant model with 356 engine power for the European market . The factory announced the 912 to the public in early April 1965. Orders for 356s were not taken after the Spring of 1965, nd production officially ended in September 1965. The 912 eased the transition between the 356 and 911. With the great aerodynamics, rgonomics, tyle, nd quality of construction as a six-cylinder 911, he 912 had other advantages as well. Fans of the 356 appreciated the similarities to that model; for example a proven 356-based flat four-cylinder fuel-efficient motor delivering 64 SAE horsepower/ liter from behind the rear axle . With the flat-four, n early 912 weighs about 250 pounds less than a standard 911 of the same year [350 pounds less than the 911S], esulting in improved front-rear weight distribution. And the combination of fuel-efficiency, ow-weight, nd low-drag translated the 912 into a "green" low-fuel consumption vehicle capable of up to 30 MPG highway, ecades before hybrid cars. First available to European customers by June 1965, he 912 soon became a market leader, articularly in the USA. The 912 outsold the 911 almost two to one in 1966. This car is a 1965 Production for model year 1966, t is titled in California as a 1965. For your verification purposes the VIN is 4536XX and it was built at the Karmann Karosserie, ody number 660X. It does retain some of the special 1965 only features such as the four bolt fenders, he early front hood ect. The car was suppose to be a father and son race car project back in the 80's they go so far as to stripping the car, hey cut out the inner door frames leaving just the outer shells as shown in the pictures, hey took out the motor to have it beefed up, ver time parts got lost, tolen or sold off. What I have available is what you see here a decently straight, ever hit in the front or rear rolling body, ith good front and rear bumpers, ut missing the motor, nterior, ights, ct. Once again I can only provide you with the parts that I have available which is what you see in the pictures. The floor does have some rust on the passenger side, he driver side seems solid, here is rust near the reartorsionas shown, he front spare tire area and battery tray allappear in nice solid condition, here is some filler and prior body work attempts on the passenger side as shown in the pictures. The car does have surface rust, ut overall it's a pretty straight and true car that deserves to be put back on the street or in a racingenvironment. The car does have a later column in it, nce againeasy to see in the pictures shown. The car is located at my house right outside the city of Sacramento, A. The car was out of the DMV system so I have had the VIN verified and a new title is currently processing in my name. This will make the car very easy to ship out of the country, tay in California, r anywhere else in the United States. If you have any questions please ask, 'll do my best to answer, owever it is best if you look at the pictures or set an appointment to see the car in person, am not a Porsche expert, ut I like to act like one online.
