Description

Up for sale is my 1973 VW Type 3 Squareback. I have always had an affinity for the older vws. I have owned a vw wesfalia camper, vw karma ghia (convertible) and now this squareback. Of the three that I have owned, his is by my favorite. It just runs so nice, nd I think they have a great look.

I don’t know much about the history of the car, s I know only what the previous owner passed along. I believe it was originally from Texas, here it spent most of its life and then found its way up to central Pennsylvania, here it has been stored for the last 18 to 20 years. I just had a ton of work done to it by a guy that has worked on my cars forever, nd specializes in vws. I bought this for my wife to tool around in, ut she recently found a vw eos convertible that she wants, o now I have too many cars.

It is very solid and it drives very smooth. I am not aware of any rust issues whatsoever

Although it is in great mechanical shape, ere are things that the next owner may consider having changed. A previous owner bolted the drivers seat to the floor, o it does not currently adjust b. It suits my height perfect (I am six feet tall), o I have never bothered to have it changed, s it fit me back and forth. Also, he previous owner had the vehicle painted, nd it was not done as professionally as I would like. From 10 feet away, ooks fine, ut as you are right up on the car, ou can see can notice some shabby work. Someone that knows an auto body shop or can do the work themselves could transform this into a real beauty. I would assume that a local professional body shop could use some tools of the trade to address these minor defects, ut they didn’t bother me enough to go through the expense of getting it looked at. Also, he odometer does not work, nd I am not aware of how many miles the engine has on it.
