1956 Was the lowest production year for the two seater Thunderbirds. The number of units produced were only 15,631 . The standard drivetrain onthe 56 Tbirdwas a 292 V8 with 3 speed manual transmission .

An optional 312 Y-Block V8 was available for those that wanted more power andperformance.
