Operation and Aesthetics:
Absolutely EVERY reflective surface of this vehicle SPARKLES! In fact, had to schedule it's photo session at 7am because in normal daylight she is positively blinding! The Alpine White paint is silk smooth to the touch and is deeply laquered in appearence.
Pay close attention to the arches, ambs, utters, ulkhead seams and even the battery box. They are all brilliantly clean.
The Saddle leather is in fantastic original condition and is velveteen smooth in feel. The Ash leather wrapped steering wheel still retains its calf-skin like touch and once seated and driving the overall feel is positively sensual.
The original Range Rover factory key fob operates perfectly and gets you inside. Once there, ou will no doubt be blown away by the enduring opulence of this truck.
Fire her up and she’s as healthy on the inside as she is on the out. The 4.0L aluminum V8 is incredibly smooth with tons of available power to send you off the line. There is absolutely no ticking, tumbling, verheating or vibrations of any kind. The transmission’s performance is crisp and quiet and delivers all forward and reverse gears as if the vehicle were new. The P38’S were truly an achievement of engineering. The cabin feel is that of a luxuriously appointed vault; every feature designed for maximum performance and a tailored fit. The perfectly working EAS Suspension is absolutely amazing. It simultaneously cushions you from any harsh terrain while providing a constantly adjusting handling experience that truly give away the European sports car hiding within the Range Rover. Take a long looping freeway interchange at 90mph and you’ll know what I am talking about. She cruises down the highway as if on rails and will convince you first hand that you are in the only vehicle out there designed to better the S-500’s of the same era. While not recommended, ou can literally let go of the wheel on the motorway and she drives straight and true - as if she needed your help anyway!
The in-cabin appointments such as power locks, indows, unroof, indscreen, ail gate defrost, eats, nstrument cluster, ulti-function stalks, uto-dim mirror and map lamps, ne-touch functions, ll work perfect.
All HVAC functions work perfect as well. The digital display is crystal clear, ll pixels and lights working. The AC is amazing, s is the heat. And yes, he seat heaters work as well! This has NEVER been a smoker’s vehicle there are no lingering smells from vents/ducts/etc.
The audio system has been upgraded to a sleek top of the line Kenwood ipod, sb, at. ready, ux, heart radio unit which delivers amazing sound through the original Harmon Kardon speaker systems. A nice modern upgrade and as this celeb. family was also a Rover family, hey retained the original Diversity unit - should its new owner wish to retrofit to OEM packaging.
This fine truck has also just been fit with a "brand new" set of OEM Michelin 4x4 tires. 5th wheel spares retained for a special vehicle like this, he tires are all uncracked and have about 100 miles on their legendary 100K mile life span. No other tire looks better, r handles better. Their is ZERO road wheel noise and they make steering performance effortless.
Braking performance is excellent; the pump is whisper quiet and fast. There is now tow or sway under pressure or release and to that point, there are no steering shimmies, hakes or wanderings of any kind.
Lest we forget, his fine P38 example is here to remind us - this was an evolution in Land Rover motoring. Not to just create a vehicle with driving supremacy in all conditions, ut to ensure it was a pleasure.
Rounding out this fantastic vehicle is perhaps a piece of time-capsule fancy. The Range Rover Experience VHS Collection...
