1990 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Black on Palomino 2 Owners

The GOOD:

Transmission was replaced at 180,000 miles and serviced regularly and shifts perfectly

AC blows nice and cold

Tires are at about 90%

Exhaust was replaced a year ago and is perfect

Shocks replaced at 300,000

Brakes have 10,000 miles on them

Factory radio and power antenna work, ith a Becker auxiliary jack installed in the center console.

All windows, unroo, ower steering wheel and power seats work

She drives nice and smooth, uiet and gets about 23mpg on the highway

Rear defroster works

Head, alves, uides, prings, iming chain, hain guides, adiator replaced at 300,000k (it was a $3200 job)

Doesn't use, urn or leak any oil.

The BAD:

The left side hood hinge has rusted out, nd the hood will not completely close. It latches on the emergency latch.SAFETY ISSUE, hould be addressed ASAP, ood could open while driving.

The power steering leaks heavily and needs to be filled every few days. I think it's a seal on the pump, ot the pump itself.

The windshield has a star on the right and a crack on the left below view

The sunroof leaks in very heavy rain

The locks partially work

The catalytic injector pump is noisy on start up

Probably could use new motor mounts at some point. You can feel it when it's cold.

The heat fades in and out until finally settling on heat. I think the little mono valve needs to be replaced sooner or later.

One of theauxiliary fans died, nd I removed it hoping to replace it or rebuild the motor, ut never got the time. The other one was replaced a little while ago and works fine, oth low speed AC and high speed.

The cruise control isn't working.

The UGLY-

Seats are worn accordingly with 350k miles

The left fender is rusted with the hood hinge, s mentioned above and would have to be replaced to get the hood to close properly again

The hood cracked the right side headlight surround on top

There is some rust starting in both rear quarters by the bumper

There is some rust under the rear windshield on the right side

The rear bumper has some chips and the chrome is rusting through

There is some curb rash on the wheels. (they clean up though, didn't have time to wash her this weekend, therwise the wheels are nice)
