I bought this car as a project in July of 2005. It came from Kansas City and was attractive because the prior owner had taken the drive train out and gone through it. I am still looking to try to find the original materials to back up my memory.
I love this car because it is the first full year for the TR6 so there are lots of unique things to the year model. First and foremost are the one year only seats where the integrated headrest folds down inside the seat to use the tonneau cover in place, s opposed to having headrest pockets. An external difference quickly seen is the push up airvent between the wipers versus the black grate for air intake.
The 1969 was available in one of 6 exterior colors, amson, ew White, riumph Racing Green, ignal Red Jasmine Yellow and Royal Blue. Although this car presents as Signal Red a quick glance at the emergency brake (as well as floor boards, ell you this was originally a New White car). It would have come with one of three interior colors, lack, atador Red and Light Tan. The codes on the car tell us this was originally a black interior, s it remains.
One of my FAVORITE features on this car is it STEEL WIRE Wheels. These are in marvelous shape. Although they could be run as is the best course of action would be, t least to have them media blasted and powder coated.
The trunk panel covering the spare tire is still with the car, s is a spare steel wire wheel.
