1998 SLP FIREHAWK 1 of 6 VERY RARE 1998 Pontiac FirehawkTrans Am 1 of 6
In 1998 S.L.P, division of Pontiac tried to change the front end of the Firehawk by doing open headlights. They proposed the changes to Pontiac and they didn't return with an answer until later in the year; they were turned down by Pontiac. Therefore, here were only six cars produced. Those six cars were converted to the '99 front ends and used for media purposes only. They were given certain packages; some track-use only and some photography only. This '98 Firehawk is equipped with all the available options offered in '98. It has the LS-1 engine, -speed transmission with a factory Auburn posi-traction rear end, actory Hurst shifter, 7" Firehawk wheels, ull suspension and 327hp.
All original, t has also been signed under the hood by David Hamburger, art of S.L.P. Also included is a multitude of paperwork, ommercial cut sheets, LPdocumentation, etters from SLPto it's original owner for Firehawkverification, icenseplate (SLP) frame and the leather Firehawk pouch (includes pen, eather pouch, ote pad, tc.). This car was pictured in multiple magazine/books and they are also included with the car.
The car is excellent driving condition. New tires. Fresh brakes. LOTS of power. The interior is in excellent condition.- no cracks in dash or the doors, arpet is excellent as well.
The exterior is GREAT condition.
One flaw on driver side front fender (no idea how that happened and how long it may have been there. Please see location in pictures provided). The front bumper discoloration is common to ALL F-bodys- this one in particular due to its rare SLP/Pontiac Motor Division hiccup with the fixed headlights, hen having to change back to the flip up style headlights at a later installed date. We decided to keep it all original with the factory discoloration for the next collector.
Don't miss your chance to own this very rare piece of Pontiac history.
