Up for auction is an extremelylow mile 1979 LincolnVersailles. I am the third owner of this 17K mileclassic. I have documentation/records to back up the original mileage. This car was bought new locally by an attorney in 79 then sold in 89 to a local used car dealer and collector. The last owner passed away a few years ago and I bought this from his estate. They didn't make many of these cars between 1977 and 1979. This is an honest car being offered by an honest Ebay seller. I removed this car from storage a few weeks ago and did all the things that need to be done to a car that has sat in storage. I replaced the complete ignition system (new distributer, lugs, ires, oints, ondenser, otor, ap). It drives and stops like it did when it was new. All of the accesorries work as they should EXCEPT the two front power windows. I can hear the window mechanism moving but the window does not work. I am pretty sure that something has come loose inside the door and could be fixed easily and PROBABLY at no cost. I was going to look into it but I really would like to just sell it quick and recover my investment. The interior is immaculate and looks brand new with the only exception of the headliner, t is sagging like most do after time but the fabric is in perfect condition and could be re-glued. This car has the rare FACTORY CB radio option and also has an 8 track player for you nostalgic types (I will even throw in a bunch of old 8 tracks that were in the trunk, hope you like old country).
I have driven this car on the highway and it drives great! This is a real throwback to when cars were made out of metal not plastic. There is NO RUST anywhere other than some surface rust on the bottom in a few places. The paint is in good condition and is original to my knowledge. I did do some buffing on the hood and it shined it up pretty good. The trunk lid and roof could use some buffing but it will shine up really well I believe. The sides are very shiny and all I did was wash them. The vinyl roof is NOT in great condition but is okay for a driver. I thought about re-dying it but the seams are coming loose in a few spots. There doesn't seem to be any rust underneath the vinyl top like many cars this age have. I believe this car has been stored inside it's whole life. The tires appear to have almost no miles on them and they are not dry rotted that I can tell. They do haveMINOR flat spotting but I am pretty sure it will work it's way out of it with some driving. The chrome and trim is in very good condition all around the car except the rear bumper does have some rust pitting on the top of it.
This would make a nice cheap old car for someone to cruise in and the good thing is the whole family can fit in it. I have a VERY LOW RESERVE on this car so keep bidding.
I am using my wife's Ebay acct. because I have listed enough cars this year to cause the listing fee to increase beyond what I feel is a fair listing fee. I have 100% feedback as a buyer and seller on my acct. which is... electra-fan and you can look it up and see for yourself.
I am not a good typist and don't like doing it so there is a lot more I can tell you but please message with questions and I will answer them promptly and honestly. Bidders can also provide their phone # and I will call them back and discuss in detail.I am an honest seller so bid with confidence.
