Ford uses a production date of July 4thfor all ‘Special Production’ cars. These can be the promotional show cars used or ones for executives. With the number of options this car has it was clearly a unique car well suited to showing off the majority of options available. When it came to cruising in style, his car was well equipped!
This ’69 has survived largely unchanged in the last 46 years. Cosmetically the car still presents well for a car of this age. The paint has a nice shine and overall the car is nice & straight, o rust repair ever. some rust on the under side of the trunk lip (see pics).
The paint is older with some patina consisting mainly of small chips that have been touched up. There is a small bubble at the front of the driver’s door and another at the base of the fuel door. The moldings appear to all be present with the normal wear on stock trim items. Consider this one a 15 footer, riving by it looks great. Get close and small imperfections become evident.
Inside the bucket seat interior presents well with some patina. The windows all work but arefinicky at times, eater blows warm with a new heater core, ipers work, tc.
The 351 Windsor 4 Barrel engine fires up easily and has plenty of power with a factory rating of 290 Horsepower and 385 pound feet of torque. The automatic goes into gear quickly and shifts properly. The 9” differential is geared for freeway hauling with a ratio of 2.75’s.
The convertible top still works nicely. The upholstery is presentable with 2 repairs. The top could easily be used for years as is. Besides who ever puts the top up on a classic convertible?
Basically a extremely solid car from Washington State, ou just can't get cars like this in the North East, lost my storage facility and don't wan't this car outside for the winter so i am looking for a good home.
