Description

1967 Mustang Coupe. Car is a "C Code" meaning it was originally a 289 2 barrel V8. The car now has a 390 big block V8 (which was an optional motor for this year mustang) and a ford toploader 4 speed manual transmission. I have license receipts that show the actual mileage to have been 35,000 in 1987. The odometer is currently reading 53,000, and the spedo/ odometer was working when I recently purchase the car. This car has many signs that would indicate a low mileage car, and I believe it only has 53,000 miles, ut have no way to be certain. The hinges haven no play whatsoever, the pedals show no wear, and neither seem to have been replaced. Also the car having no rust would indicate not being driven much. This is a very solid, rust free car.
New Parts: Hood, ront bumper, ear bumper, as tank.
Seat Upholstery and carpet is new. Headliner is new, and it is a new product from TMI that is a molded light weight upholstered fiberglass unit. It looks really nice, and there are no bows, and more head room.
Brand new tires with less than 10 miles.
New Ignition Switch
New 390 emblems
Items that need to be fixed:
taillights not working
horn not working - needs an aftermarket horn button
Due to these items, the car is not currently inspected / licensed.
Driveline :
The 390 always fires up quickly, has good oil pressure, no clicking or knocking sounds whatsoever, no smoke. It does drip a little oil - probably needs oil pan gasket.
The motor is close to stock - idles smooth. Tons of low speed torque. Has Edelbrock Intake and a rare Holley 600 double pumper.
The top loader 4 speed works fine, goes into every gear easily, but does whine some. Although it drives fine now, it may need to be rebuilt at some point.
It has an original ford shifter with the reverse lock out trigger.
Rear end is a Ford 9 inch with 2.90 gears. (very high geared car- doesn't turn much rpm at all at highway speeds.
Drum brakes front and rear working perfectly.
This car has a set of Vintage torque thrust wheels on it. They look really cool, but they are not perfect. There is some chips in the area where center caps bolt on, and some small chips in the aluminum rim- purely cosmetic issues.
This car was originally an Air Conditioned Car, so the a/c vents and controls are in the dash. Currentl, does not have any of the a/c components under the hood.
Paint: It was painted recently with PPG base coat / clear coat. The paint is decent, as you can see from the pictures, but its not perfect. The car looks amazing from 20 feet back, but up close you can find small imperfections. The body is very close to being rust free. The only rust I have found is a nickel size hole in the trunk floor. Does NOT have rust in the usual areas along the bottom of the fenders, oors, tc. No rust in the original floor pans.
The trunk lid has a few small hail dents. (you can buy a trunk lid new for $150.00 ) . The doors have a few small dings as well.
The car has no radio, and luckily the dash has never been cut. Padded dash in perfect condition.
This car has been perfectly reliable, and would be a sharp looking driver as is, nbsp; or an excellent candidate to take to the next level.
Buyer Responsible for shipping. I can store the car up to two weeks free of charge, s long as payment has been arranged. I may consider delivery for the cost of fuel, as long has full payment has been made.
$500.00 non refundable deposit through paypal upon close of auction. Remainder of payment due within 3 days,
cash in person, of bank wire transfer.
This car is not a show car, nor has it been fully restored, but is a very sharp looking, very soli, rivable car and the reserve is set accordingly. I will be happy to answer any questions, or email specific pictures.
Everything mentioned is the current condition of this vehicle, but there are no warranties expressed or implied. You can't go wrong buying a classic mustang - they always maintain there value.
I will add the VIN to this listing.
**The car is being sold with the gray spoke wheels (torque thrust) and not the chrome Craiger wheels in the last photo.
