1976 Toyota Celica GT
True 2-Owner California Car Original Purchase Receipt Full Maintenance Records Rare GT Model with all Accessories 2.2L 20R Four-Cylinder 5-Speed W50 Manual Transmission Original Paint and BodyMotoeXotica is pleased to offer another rare Japanese legend, very original two-owner 1976 Toyota Celica GT! This Celica has spent its life under two owners both in the California, here the car was originally purchased at Toyota Center in San Mateo. Remaining with the car is the original purchase order, tating all of the options and the final sale price of $5,300. California dry and warm climate was an ideal for preserving this Celica GT, oth the paint and body are original and in as good of condition as an all original 1976 car could be in! Only minor rock chips on the front make this paint from being perfect, owever the chips do confirm that this Toyota has never been repainted.
Toyota realized their Celica to the United States market to fill the exploding midsize economy market, hich Toyota was unable to cover since their 800 in 1969. In general the Celica was intended to be midsize economical that had the styling of far more expensive cars, ut without the reliability issue and most importantly the price those car demanded. Offered in three different trim choices, hich had difference in standard equipment and performance; as would be expect this GT model offered the most standard equipment and performance. These first generation Celica’s can be farther broke down into two separate model codes; RA and TA. With this Celica model being identified has an RA24; which offered a longer flat nose with square side indicators (to accommodate the larger engine), estyled door vents, nd the fuel door location and style changed.
This Celica GT came standard with Toyota’s 2.2L 20R four cylinder engine, ated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Beside the drivetrain the GT model is signified by “GT” stripes on the rocker panels, teel wheels with a chrome lip, nd several performance inspired interior upgrades too. All of which are on the car and in great condition! As previously stated the beige paint and exterior trim are in fantastic original condition, he chrome shows wonderfully and no signs of ageing; even the original badging are in great condition. The contrasting “landau” brown roof section is on par with the exterior paint as well.
Taking a step inside this classic import, he GT model was distinguished by an 8k tachometer, simulated woodgrain dashboard, eather wrapped 4-spoke steering wheel, nd three additional gauges too; which of course, his Celica has and are in fantastic condition. The simulated tan leather seats are in great condition, ith little evidence of use to be found. Matching the seats in color and condition, he carpet is in incredible condition considering the age. The AM/FM multiplex radio remains in the original factory position and condition.
a single overhead camshaft 2.2L four-cylinder engine, his Toyota is a real pleasure to drive. Paired with the W50 5-speed manual transmission this Celica has no issues in modern traffic conditions and is a true experience when the road starts stops being straight. Air condition was optioned from the dealer and allows this car to be driven in any weather. Also included with this car are numerous receipts, hich total in the $1,000’s, or work completed on the car throughout its’ history.
These classic Japanese’s imports are rapidly becoming sought after by collectors and dealers alike. Most of which do not even come close to the original condition this 1976 Celica GT is in! Now is the time to get ahead of eventual price spike of these imports!
