This is a 15k actual mile, nbsp;"Flight-Line Truck" from Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. There is a stenciled number on the back bumper where a license plate would normally be & a couple other numbers stenciled to the side of the framerail. It was never titled or plated until it was sold through a surplus auction & been stored mostly since then. Flight line trucks were used to haul supplies, aterials to and from airplanes & around the base only (maybe it hauled an alien?). It has a slant 6 engine, utomatic tranny, ower steering, ower disc brakes. The original driver's door is in the back, t has a dent which is why it was replaced, 'm not sure why the hood was changed? Maybe an alien fell on it? The passenger inside door panel is missing & I removed & threw away the cracked up factory rubber floor mat for pictures. It does run & drive, he tires are matching and good but I would not take it on a road trip without spending a couple days servicing it, nbsp;tune-up, resh gas etc..
Here's the kicker........ABSOLUTELY NO RUST WHAT-SO-EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at the pictures of the underside, he box still has the original grey primer showing & check out the rear cab corners inside the cab which are usually the first to rust, till shiny blue paint.
Leave this truck the way it is for a cool old ratrod or, ince there is NO rust repair needed, t would be easy to restore the way you want. I also have several 440 mopar engines & trannys for an extra cost if that's the way you want to go? A friend of mine put a "take out" 5.7 hemi w/overdrive auto in his 79 shortbox very inexpensively & loves it.
