Selling my truck with installed hitch. Sold my RV earlier this year so I just don't have much need for it anymore. I would like for it to go to someone who can really use it. I attached several pictures and the basic details are below.
Please read this entire posting before contacting me. I don't have to sell this truck, ut it really doesn't make sense to keep it and I would really like to see it go to someone who can really use the truck and hitch. It's exactly the kind of deal I wish I found when I bought my RV and needed to get a truck and hitch. I didn't find such a deal, nd so I wound up paying much more for the truck and had a brand new hitch installed.
The truck is mechanically sound. I know of no issue with the engine/drivetrain.
To help make this go smoothly, have listed everything I can think of that is wrong with it. The price already reflects these items.
So here's what's wrong with it:
- needs new tires. I would probably move the 2 tires from the front, hich have life left, o the rear and then just put 2 new tires on the front. That should get you by for quite a while. Your choice depending on how you plan to use it.
- the high brake/reverse light on the top of the cab is broken. I did that myself last year while backing up into my garage with a bookcase in the bed. Pretty dumb. I didn't bother to fix it, ut should just be a new light assembly.
- it has 2 chips in the windshield. They have both been there for years and have not spread. Purely cosmetic and I wouldn't bother to fix them.
- it now has 3 cracks in the plastic on top of the dash by the windshield. There is a picture showing this. This has been a recent development as the truck is parked outside and it gets the sun. Again, urely cosmetic.
- some parts of the body are now starting to show some fading due being parked in the sun
- The front passenger seat does not latch into the proper recline position. Sometimes I get it to latch, ut most often when I adjust it it will just drop down to the full recline position. I have a feeling I would be able to fix this somehow if I just spent some time, ut haven't bothered.
- The front hood is supposed to stay raised by itself, ut it doesn't anymore. This has also been a recent development in the last few months. You can see in one of the pictures that I use a piece of wood to hold it up when I need to. I'll include the wood with the truck. I don't think this is a big deal, would never bother to fix it.
- It does have some small/medium dents from use. Please look at the pictures. There are a couple on the driver's side door and quarter panel, nd also some dents from use inside the bed.
- It has a scrape on the body over the driver's side rear wheel (see picture) from when I tried to cut it too close trying to fit this into my garage.
My reserve price is very reasonable. Many similar trucks are for sale on the internet for $12,000- or more. It also has a DrawTite 18k 5th wheel hitch installed. The way I look at it, nyone buying it would get the truck at a reasonable price and the hitch for free. It would be a pretty good deal if someone was looking for a truck and hitch.
Some details:
2003 Dodge RAM 3500 Dually rear wheel drive, ed color
long bed (8 ft) and rubber bed liner
Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel with ECM update, 20,000 miles
6-speed manual transmission
crew cab, ll leather interior
just installed new batteries 10/2015 ($315-)
has some cosmetic wear but engine is perfect
just passed emissions test and renewed registration in December
I actually love this truck. I hauled my 33' fifth wheel across the country 3 times with no problem at all. I sold my RV earlier this year just because I never used it, nd now just don't have much need for this truck.
Please contact me with any questions before bidding. Due to insurance issues, will not be able to allow test drives. I will be able to take it to a professional mechanic of your choice to have it checked out if you like. I may be able to show it as well. Truck is located in Chandler, rizona.
Thanks for looking at my ad and have a nice day!
