I built this Jeep starting in the summer of 2005. It was completely stripped down to nothing and built from the ground up by myself and my father in our garage. Theres alot of custom work, ody being the biggest, saved the original cowl section and built the body off that. All new sheet metal was utilized in the body tub. Reproduction tailgate, indshield frame, enders, ood and grille are utilized also. The roof is made by Kelly Ironworks, t's in amazing condition! It spent most of it's life in storage. I completely stripped the doors, ew window tracks were installed, he original glass is still there, t does have some scratches from over the years. I found keys for the locks so the interior can be secured when the doors are on. The windows roll up and down fine. There is a lockable storage compartment under the passenger seat. Paint is enamel.
In August 2014 i installed a brand new crate engine, he 350ci 290hp version from GM. Everything on the engine was brand new that summer, ave for the distributor. I installed a new Howard's Racing Cams roller hydraulic cam so theres no fear of the crummy zincless oil we have to use now eating the cam lobes. Double roller timing chain, oller tip rocker arms, ll new Edlebrock dual quad setup (500 cfm carbs), ertronix ignition with Blaster coil, ew finned valve covers, uel pressure regulator too. I just installed a new aluminum rad last springwith a new GM heavy duty 6 blade fan, hey do a great job keeping it cool on the hottest/humid days. And it does get pretty good mileage, 've gotten a best of 18mpg out of it if you care about that kind of stuff. The engine only has 4,133 miles on it as of this listing.
The tranny is a 1965 SM420 4 speed out of a truck. I have not had this tranny apart, installed a new output seal when i installed it, hats it. It shifts fine. It does leak some fluid, ostly out of the bolts that hold the pto drive on. The pto on the back does work.
The rear axle is from a 1978 CJ5, t has 3:07 gears and a posi unit. Front axle is a 1979 DJ5 with the huge drum brakes. Lots of stopping power!
There is a heater, t's a Harrison, had a new core built for it and i swapped in a modern fan motor with a cage, orks much better.
Manual dual system brakes and manual steering, he steering has been upgraded to a saginaw setup. The steering column and wheel were new when i first built the Jeep, he column was modified to accept a universal at the bottom to link up to modern components.
The wiring harness i used is a Painless 12 circuit unit.
I have done a TON of work to this Jeep over the years. It's fun to drive, t gets thumbs up all the time, t even won a best in class award too. I love it when the uninitiated walk up to it and suspect a stock Jeep but see that dual quad small block sitting between the frame rails, he shock factor was why i installed this engine!
It is a Jeep and it does ride a little on the rough side, on't expect a Cadillac ride from a short wheel based leaf spring vehicle.

A local vehicleshipper is Mackies in Oshawa Ontario Canada, hey are about 20 minutes from my house, ake advantage of our very low Canadian dollar to save yourself $ on shipping it to your house from mine. They can deal with all necessary paperwork to make the experience easy for you. This Jeep will be very easy to bring into the US as it was built there in 1947.
