This is a very nice relatively rare RHD 1951 Morgan +4 finished in Olde English White which was purchased in the early 1990’s from Allon White & Sons located in Bedford England off a fresh restoration. The car was used to travel extensively through Europe while the owners were working in Brussels. The car was then imported to the United States and has been used for summer “fun transportation” on the dry weekends. To the best of my knowledge, ince 1999, he top and side curtains have never been used on the car. I have put them on for some pictures only and to show their condition. The interior is black leather. The chrome is exceptional on the radiator shell, eadlight buckets, nd turn signals, xcept for the hub caps which are good. The paint has some chips and a few cracks as would be expected with a twenty plus year old car.
Mechanically, he engine is a very strong Vangard Triumph four cylinder with a single downdraft Solex carburetor. The gasoline used has had the appropriate lead additive with each fill up. The oil used has been Shell Rotella T 15W40 diesel oil so that there is zinc in the oil for the camshaft tappets since all our oils in the US no longer have the zinc additive. It does not burn oil. The four speed transmission is the standard “Moss” gearbox. The brakes were replaced in 2012 and work very well, he fluid was replaced with DOT 5 so that there would be no moisture problems in the system. The front bakes are double leading shoe design for greater stopping power and the rears standard lead and trail design. The rear axle and drive shaft “U” joints are in excellent condition. The front suspension is the standard Morgan sliding pillar which is lubricated by a push button on the firewall to be held down for several seconds upon firing the engine before driving. There is a stainless steel exhaust system.
The dashboard is an exquisite piece of English Walnut housing beautiful original “Smiths” working gauges. The electrical system is typical + ground for stronger spark and works perfectly. The headlights and the entire system are “Lucas”, ven the horn and turn signals work.
I am selling this car for my good friends as it is hardly ever used nowadays. There are extensive pictures of the entire car and I will be happy to answer all questions you may have regarding this automobile. Cashiers check or money transfer only accepted for payment. At the conclusion of the auction, cashiers check or money transfer is expected within 5 days. Delivery is at the new owners expense.
