You're not going to find a better deal on a Z than this! I have spent about $23k on this car over the years. The only problem with the car is a few rust spots and paint on the roof and rear quarter panels. The car rides stiffer and a little lower than I'd like since it's on Cosmo Racing coil over adapters. I have Eibach springs but I haven't spent the time to install them. They come with the car along with the original sway bars. those were replaced with stiffer MSA sway bars. I have an original radio that is for sale separately. They are very hard to come by and this one looks very nice. You could install it to make it work like original or put he new stereo in the glove box and put the original one in the dash for an original look but have a modern stereo. The fuel system was just refurbished. The tank was professionally sandblasted and sealed in and out by Gas Tank Renu. New fuel pump. damper. filter. and rubber hoses. Installed new injector connectors and boots. Brackets powder coated. parts with rubber were painted. Vent hoses replaced except for the two molded ones that are nla. however I pressure checked them and they are good. The car is in very good condition but needs some work to win shows again. Nevertheless. the car took first place in the Stock 280Z category of the 2010 East Coast Z Nationals. Work done last year:1)The driver's frame rail under the floor pan and part of the floor pan were just replaced with sections of a rust-free '78 280Z2)New carpet set including trunk carpet (floor mats are not new)3)Seats and interior vinyl were just recoated with special vinyl paint to match the original4)New windshield washer pump5)New air filter. fuel filter. spark plugs. rotor and cap6)Dropped oil pan. sandblasted and painted due to peeling paint and some surface rust. It's not the original Datsun blue color but I have a rattle can of the correct color. 7)Repainted the hatch. installed new window seal and new emblemsSome of the work done under my ownership:1)The front subframe. front and rear control arms. and other suspension components were powder coated2)Replaced fuel pump and oil pump last year along with the heater control valves under the dash3)Always used synthetic oil with ZDDP additive. Always use Eastwood fuel additive for ethanol. 4)Rear asymmetric lower control arm bushings to align rear wheels5)Cosmo racing coil over shocks with heavy duty springs (very stiff). This lowered the car a bit. 6)Stiffer MSA sway barsThe previous owner spent a ton of time restoring the car and did the following:1)Rechromed the bumpers2)Just about every bolt and part on the car that was originally cadmium plated replated in gold zinc. 3)Intake manifold polished4)Converted to 5 speed from 280ZX. Original 4-speed is available. 5)Clutch from 2+2 (stronger than coupe clutch)6)Front brake calipers upgrade to Toyota 4-runner. Use silicone brake fluid. 7)Air temp sensor modification that allows fuel/air ratio to be adjusted. Air/fuel gage installed on steering column. Not working or known issues:1)Air conditioning (all components except belt are in place; pump needs to be resealed)2)Rear defroster only defrosts a few strips3)Center console is cracked next to ash tray4)Paint is in poor condition. The clear coat has come off the roof and has cracked on a majority of the body. There are a few rust spots that need attention; one on the passenger lower fender. one on the lower part of the driver side panel next to the muffler. and the other on the panel seam below the driver door. Wheels are classic "cyclone" wheels made by Western Wheels and are vintage correct. The car comes with an additional rim matching the others that is brand new. never mounted! I have center caps but they don't fit well enough for road use but look great when put on for shows. Beautiful onyx shift knob with Datsun Logo. Passenger side visor flap was signed by Mr. K himself!I have a big folder with receipts from the parts and work I've done to the car. Front dash is original with no cracks!Stereo system is decent with tweeters. speakers under the seats. and shakers under each seat that give the feel of a subwoofer without the unsightly subwoofer. I have the clean title in hand (no liens). Here are more pictures click hereDon't be confused by the before and after pictures.
