1935 Dodge P/U 1st Series 33 34 35 Suicide Door

1935 DODGE pickup. original steel body with suicide doors. The 1935 engine has been rebuilt with hardened valve seats and has new radiator. rebuilt water pump. new hoses. belts. gas line. new gas tank. and exhaust system. A 12 V conversion includes electric fuel pump. correct 1935 10” headlights and period correct dual Dodge glass taillights with turn signals on top of the brake lights. Auto Meter Prestige Black Diamond gauges are in the dashboard. The wiring is new and tucked away for a clean look. The cab and the frame have not been chopped in any way. This is an original style truck that has not been molested. Both exterior and interior are painted semi-gloss black and the interior is upholstered in black and red vinyl. with black carpet and “Dodge" monogrammed in the bucket seats. The top has varnished mahogany from the owner’s 1908 house that is covered on the outside with waterproof material and black canvas. All the glass is new. The original suspension and knee-action shock absorbers have been gone through. The new brakes include a new master cylinder and brake lines. (Neither Ford nor Chevrolet had hydraulic brakes yet in 1935. ) The tires are new Firestone Deluxe Rib Blackwall 600-16 tube type. A period correct Dodge Brothers’ emblem is on the front and 1935 features include the original rear view mirror. door and window cranks. steering wheel. window moldings. cowl vent. mirrors. nbsp;wheels (powder-coated red). hubcaps and front bumper. And the windshield folds out for great summer ventilation. Smooth and easy to drive with non-synchronized transmission and hydraulic brakes. it is currently insured and registered with original 1935 California license plates front and rear. This is an eye-catching old truck that brings a lot of smiles everywhere. People love it and when we park in a Home Depot loading zone it’s a real conversation starter.
