Hop in the way-back machine to forgotten performance car gem of the 90's. From RoadandTrack.com "MotorWeekfound that the Neon R/T was a legitimate racer for the street, ut at a price mortals could afford. $13,295 got you a 150-hp twin-cam four-cylinder mated to a 5-speed manual, s well as stiffer suspension and track-ready anti-roll bars.
I've owned 5 R/T's and this one has been my favorite. I love the blue/silver combo. It's still a running little dude even with over 378,000 miles on it. It has the Mopar shorty header, ceman intake, ither the Mopar or AFX ecu (I forget which), djustable Koni struts from an ACR and fat swaybars. Ice cold A/C. Important in Texas. This car has lived it's whole life in southern New Mexico and central Texas. No RUST!!
This used to be my trackday and autocross toy. Always meticulously maintained. The Mobil 1 is leaking from a few spots. The Texas sun has damaged the clearcoat on the hood, oof and trunk. The steering rack has some play and a rebuilt unit is included in the sale. Some assembly required ( I don't have time to install it).
Arrive and drive. I'm up to six cars and the wife is getting a little nervous.
Like the ACR, he Neon R/T is at home on the track, ut it works on the street just as well. If you can find one today, his car would make an excellent low-budget racer."
