1958 Dodge Coronet Super D-500. yes that's right super d-500 (Not a clone. Not a reproduction. but a real deal SUPER D-500 with Chrysler paperwork to prove it!!!). let me start out by saying that I bought this car from a very private collection here in Alabama. the gentleman died about a year ago and his widow waited before showing me the collection and selling me the car. the car is as real as it gets. he bought the car a long while ago but never got the car out to show and only drove the car several miles since he bought it. the car simple was pampered and stayed cleaned and would every once in a while be cranked up and ran just to stay up. His widow told me that when they bought the car. it was represented as original miles with about 80 to 85% original paint! and that's how she represented it to me. It's my personal opinion that the little old lady was telling me the truth. when you look at the car you can't find any spots that point to the entire car being reprinted or ever touched. You can see on the rear quarters low and behind the rear tires where both sides had a spot job done. you can see that. and that's where she got 80 to 85% on the original paint! because of those two spots being touched up. The rest of the paint shows just like a unrestored car. with all the signs that point to original paint. The interior is perfect. the seats are still covered in plastic. all the dash is original and everything works perfect. the original radio even comes on and works perfect and clear even though it's a AM radio only. and the car still cranks like it did from the factory be pushing the neutral button. The trunk is all original with the original mat and spare and all. Under the hood of the car is untouched with all the power steering and power brakes system being original options to the car. the motor is untouched. with all the factory super d500 stuff being all their and untouched. The factory 2x4s with correct breathers. the factory choke tube that goes to the passenger manifold. with the correct manifold. also all the correct brackets for the coil. which are all their and 100% correct. The motor still has it's factory super d500 stickers on the valve covers. All original hose clamps and everything. this is truly a fantastic car that's untouched. From the Chrysler paperwork that I have. which one sheet is a copy of the original IBM card. this is the original motor for the car. The IBM card list on it the motor number which matches the numbers on the front motor pad just below the distributor. From everything that I've found when doing research and talking with people is that they only produced about 90 total super d500s. and that their are only 11 known to exist. of all that was produced all were royal lancers. this is the only base coronet. and it was special ordered by someone for them to be able to get it this way. The IBM card is also marked special order to back that up. And on a letter from Chrysler that i have decoding this car it states CORONET. The car was ordered the base coronet. with a lot of the royal lancer extra trim. the extra teeth on the front bumpers and exhaust tips. The car was also special ordered in a 1957 dodge paint code AAA jewel black. This is a super rare car that was special ordered per my research and calling and talking with people. that this car is the only one like it. The car is for sale locally and is subject to be taken off eBay if sold. The car is also sold as is with no warranty. Your more then welcomed to fly in and inspect the car. their is nothing to hide with this car.
