Can you believe you can get this cool cruising convertible for under $23K?! After all, we all know Mopars are the rarest of Detroit's Big Three, and this 1968 Dodge Dart GT convertible is thoroughly complete, and it even has the correct V8 with great performance upgrades. The Dart has always been the blocky looking bad boy. Because this is a convertible, those GT badges are legit. The bodywork on this one has remained straight and angular after all these decades, and the finely creased sheetmetal is far more clutter-free than its contemporaries. This has allowed the factory-correct light blue paint to be the perfect canvas for the more aggressive darker elements like the rear sports stripe package and the new power folding black vinyl top. But this doesn't mean the brightwork can't be aggressive, too. Just look at those hood vents and Cragar SS wheel...That's pure intimidation. The exterior blue pant is a great introduction to the metallic blue vinyl inside. One look at this design and material, and you know it can only come from the '60s that's exactly the first impression you want your classic convertible to make. It's ultra-clean inside, and so it's obvious that someone who really loved this car was in charge of its maintenance (also important for the first impression.) The blue on the seats coordinates nicely with the carpets, dash, and the door panels that have the proper GT badging. The sea of blue is broken up by the bright center console that runs in-between the bucket seats and really sets off the interior. Plus, there's plenty of distinction on bright features like the original heat/defrost controls, AM/FM radio, and the inner ring of the large factory steering wheel. When you open the hood, you'll love seeing the big V8 greet you with the shiny chrome air cleaner that announces it's an extraordinary Mopar. The top GT engine in 1968 was the 273 cubic-inch V8, and this one stays true to that history with what shows signs of being the original block. This V8 fires right up with enthusiasm, the four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Streetmaster intake give you an extra wallop of power, and the dual exhaust lets them all know there is some real muscle behind this blue machine. On the road, the Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission has that perfect balance of easy cruising for the everyday, and reliable performance when you want to hammer the upgraded V8. Thankfully, the stout 10-bolt rear end can handle it all. The Michelin X tires make sure you have good modern grip, and the whole package is setup to make sure the driver stays connected to the road. When you realize how rare, nice, and complete this convertible is, you'll do a double take on the price. So we could tell you to hurry up and get this Dart GT, but you already know it's going fast. Call today!!!
