1982 Ferrari 400i Cabriolet. Fully US compliant. DOT certified. Current free and clear Washington State title in hand. Very nice original car that runs and drives as it should. An excellent road car especially at higher speeds. Presently Gotti wheel and new Cooper high performance tires are fitted (Original metric wheels and tires are included with the car).
Within the last 2000 miles both fuel injection systems have been serviced completely with new injectors installed. 1 new fuel pump and both fuel filters replaced. Engine tune up performed including spark plugs. A/C was serviced, heel bearing cleaned inspected and re-packed, adiator removed boiled out and serviced. New ANSA exhaust system installed from the exhaust manifold back to the exhaust tips. This system has the required O2 ports with the correct sensors. 4 way alignment completed at the time the new tires were installed. New exact fit carpet from the Netherland's installed with proper foot and heel pads. New hood struts installed. This Ferrari always starts and runs smooth. Provides lots of power and acceleration. An excellent exciting road car.
This is an original car that has not been restored, he brakes have 60% +/- front and rear, ven pad wear and they stop well with no brake pulsation. Doors and hoodsopen and close easily and are true and even. It does not appear that this car has ever had any collision damage. When the alignment was completed the car aligned easily giving evidence of no frame damage history. Electric windows all work and this car has the electric rear 1/4 windows. The original Ferrari radio works as does the electric antenna. Both original Ferrari rear view mirrors are electric and work well. All gauges work with the exception of the clock, t has a mind of its own and works when it feels up to the challenge. Headlights open and close and both hi and low beams operate as designed. Wiper motor works as designed, urn signals work as designed. The dash has shrunk with time and needs to be restored. The top has a liner on the inside and is manual and works well and is easy for 1 person to raise and lower. The engine when cold starts quickly and shows 7 bars of oil pressure. After long run the oil pressure gauge will show 3+ bars at full operating temperature. Water temp gauge never climbs above the 90 degree mark even when sitting in traffic on a hot day, lectric fans operate as designed.
I am not a car dealer or flipper, am a long term Ferrari enthusiast and owner and I have owned this Ferrari since 2008 and at my age it is time to thin the herd. I have cared for this car and enjoyed it from the day of purchase. Sadly I am at the age that some toys must move on to the next enthusiast. I know of nothing major this car needs for the new owner to really enjoy. As with all cars of this age, mall scratches and blemishes and some wear are apparent. It is a 33 year old used car.
There is a paint blemish as shown in the phots that are attached on the right front corner of the valance I did this as I was turning the car into the drive a couple of months ago/ The top has 2 small repairs due to top bow pinches and it is quite faded as I never put it up and I saw no reason to replace it. As I stated earlier the seats are worn but no tears and the dash has shrunk and needs to be re done. There is no evidence of underside or body rust, his car lives in a heated building. I do have the original shop/owner manual included with the car and I am also including the original metric wheels and tires. I did not every receive the tool roll when I bought the car.
I have many additional photos and will take photos for serious buyers I also have several videos of it running and driving. The car is available for in person inspection if you like. I am NOT interested in any trades or deals or offers. If you are a serious purchaser I will be glad to provide you with those additional photos. If you are just looking for pictures try google images and don't waste my time.
For overseas buyers I will provide transportation to the Seattle docks at no charge, verseas shipping and documentation is the responsibility of the buyer. To accommodate shipping dates I will store the Ferrari at no charge after receipt of full payment and proof of insurance coverage until shipping details are set for a MAXIMUM of 30 days.
NOTE:::: Unlike the Strayman cabriolets this Ferrari has a nice smooth body line when the top is down as you will see in the pictures/ This is the only cabriolet I have ever seen with this smooth body and top boot line. It does not have the top sitting up on the rear deck like most of the cabriolets. I have been told this car as done in Italy however I have no direct knowledge of this. I have been to the Ferrari Factory several years back and was privileged to tour the Classique archives and actually saw both original build card and the original build file for this car. The only note shown was on the build card and a penciled note said "convertible?" Other than that I will try and answer any and all questions.
As I said this car is available for inspection and or road test with proper arrangement. I really suggest you have pre purchase in you are a serious buyer as all sales are final
Full payment is due within 3 days of the sale. No exception
