Description

First time presented for bid is a 1964 Dodge 2 Door Post 330 Max Wedge Re-Creation. The 1964 Dodge 330 2 Door Post started life as a small block V8 car. The vehicle is now powered by a 426 CID, hich has the look of a true Max Wedge [less than several hundred miles on the motor]. The vehicle was acquired from a friend in Northern California. Upon inspection and after media blasting the vehicle, o rust was found in the vehicle. Therefore, t has been established the car is rust free. Like many of the true Max Wedge vehicles, he vehicle does not have a heater, adio or power steering.
For those who have purchased and read "The 1964 Dodge 426 Ramcharger" book written by Darrell Davis, ost people understand the vast majority of Max Wedge Dodge's were either Dodge 440 2 door hard top's or Dodge 330 2 door post models. There were indeed a few Dodge Polara 500 models that were Max Wedge factory cars, ut the vast majority of the 1964 Dodge’s were either 440 or 330 models.
To get the best possible result, he restoration process started with the vehicle being media blasted with walnut shell to get down to a bare metal surface. To re-create the approach used by the Chrysler factory, he undercarriage was sprayed in primer only. The exterior of the car was painted in the original color of white, sing the modern base coat clear coat paint of today. The exterior received several coats of clear to get greater color impact.
The vehicle glass is in very good condition. The interior has been redone, ith new carpet, ew headliner, e-upholstered seats front and back, ew wind lace, nd re-upholstered sun visors.
The seats were stripped down to the bare seat frames and painted prior to being re-upholstered. The material pattern is not exact to 1964, ut has the look of that time period. The gauges are factory original, nd the gauges were not altered. I left the gauge bezels in the original condition.
The trunk has been striped and spray painted with Zolitone Spatter Paint to give a factory look. A trunk floor mat has been included, long with the jack, ase, ook, nd tire jack bar.
The engine is a 426 CID, ith two real 3705 carburetors which have been rebuilt. The way to know these are factory carburetors is to know the carburetor number is not stamped into the ears of the carburetor base. Instead, he carburetor identification is identified through a triangular tag that is mounted by a screw on the upper plane of the carburetor. The advantage of use of the original carburetors is that reproduction factory linkage can be used without any modification. This is an important feature, or those who want a true factory look. Reproduction Max Wedge air cleaners have been used with the correct factory air cleaner labels to continue with a factory correct look. The Max Wedge exhaust manifolds are accurate reproductions. The engine wiring harnesses are new to avoid any electrical problems at a later date. Like many Max Wedge vehicles, his vehicle does not have a power steering pump which would rob horse power. The three pulleys are Max Wedge reproductions. The Max Wedge vehicle used deep groove pulleys.
The pictures provided have been selected to provide the bidder with a good view of the cars exterior, nterior, ngine compartment, nd trunk. Only a few of the many pictures of the undercarriage have been provided, s there is a limitation to the number of pictures allowed through the process I have selected. I have numerous other pictures that I can provide, f you contact me and ask for specific views of the car.
