2011 Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 Final Edition or better known as the 599 Alonso Edition.
This was the last special edition 599 to come out of the factory in Maranello, and what a way to say goodbye to an iconic supercar..
Ferrari built this 599 special edition to commemorate its 60 years of Formula 1 wins (hence the name, 60F1) ranging from Froilan Gonzalez ‘s win at Silverstone in 1951 to Fernando Alonso ‘s win at the same venue in 2011.
The Alonso Edition is based on the 599 HGTE chassis, which is basically a handling package for the standard 599 GTB. HGTE stands for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, and this option adds tougher suspension, shorter springs and stiffer anti-roll bars.
Connected to this engine is a six-speed automated-manual transmission with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel for manual control. This power then gets sent to the rear wheels only. This particular model also has a kerb weight of 1690 kilograms.
This Ferrari is able to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in 3.7 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 330 kilometres per hour (205 miles per hour).
Ferrari offered this 599 60F1 edition in three different liveries, first of which is based on Fernando Alonso ‘s F150 Formula 1 car with white accents on the front bumper, mudguards, bonnet, a-posts and buttress. It also features a tricolor on the spoiler.
The second option keeps the F150 theme but removes the tricolor and white accents from the bonnet and a-posts. The third and final theme is based on Froilan Gonzalez ‘s 375 F1.
The interior features Ferrari ‘s carbon-fibre racing seat with blue and red four-point harnesses specified by FIA for the 2010-2011 Formula 1 Championship.
To keep production numbers at a minimum, Ferrari decided to produce only 40 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 ‘s and the one pictured here.
