Description

1972 FIAT 124 Sport Spider BS1 with 1608cc engine. Clean and clear California Title. Car comes from the factory with four wheel disc brakes and a Lampredi Twin Cam engine. This car is in need of floor replacements and has rust that needs repair at the passenger side rear trailing arm. This is a running, driving car that has had a recent alignment and I have been using to get around the city. I don't poses the space to give this car the repairs it needs, but I'm hoping it falls into the hands of someone who knows the value and history of these incredible cars. If anyone doubts how amazing they are, take a look at who the winner for the 1967 European Car of the Year is =)
The paint on this car is older but gorgeous. Anytime I am seen rolling into the grocery store parking lot or cruising around the neighbor hood, someone comments on how beautiful it is. That said, the car needs love to bring her back to her full glory. Fortunately almost all of the parts for the 124 Spider are still readily available and inexpensive - one of the major draws to this car. Whether you are looking to learn how to work on a car or looking for a car to take to the local show - the FIAT 124 is great for either. For anyone that has questions about the vehicle, please don't hesitate to ask my any questions and I am happy to provide videos of the car shifting/driving and idling. Breaks and parking break all work as do all gears. As mentioned in the description above, the car has had a recent alignment, timing belt and tensioner bearing replacement as well as a water pumpreplacement. This car does not leak any oil, especially around the valve covers like most FIAT twin cams. The fan cycles on and off as it should and the car does not overheat. I am happy to provide a video of this as well, if anyone is interested. I care about this vehicle and want it to go to a good home, preferablyto someone who has experience with the 124. Again, don'thesitateto ask any questions, I am willing to provide any additional information for interested parties to give the best and most accurate description.
As you can see from the photo of the inside of the hood, there has been repair to the front area. I have also included photos of a small baseball size indentation above the passenger side rear tire and a scuff behind the driver side rear tire. There is a very small rust bubble on the lower front corner of the passenger side door that has not increased in size since i have owned the vehicle.
The passenger seat is in as good condition as the driver seat but has been removed so the rust in the floor is evident. Again the drivers side floor is not nearly as bad as the passenger side. The passenger side seat will be reinstalled for the buyer.
I have taken many photos looking down the body of the car so that clean rockers and straight body can be seen, as well as full on side shots to show the profile of the car. The top is very clean and clear and the tan compliments the blue perfectly. The period correct slotted mags come with the car and give it a great, aggressive stance for a compact size car.
This car is sold as is without warranty, as stated above.
