Up for auction is a for real "Ford" steel 5 - window coupe done up in a nice traditional build. The car has been done since 2004 and has racked up a little over 6. 00 trouble free miles and has proven to be a well sorted out car. The car was originally built by a local hot-rod builder Greg VanRuden. and was owned by a friend of mine from near the twin cities. Knowing the solid nature of the car I bought it and added some and removed other aspects of the car to arrive at what I thought to be a really decent. ready to drive and enjoy "traditional" hot rod. As for the car itself. it started with a very solid body that came from Canada. Their was only one small rust spot in the bottom of the passenger cowl. Check out the pictures. the floor pans look like new. Door latches. window. etc. all work nice. as expected. The top was filled long ago. but the cowl vent was retained. Naturally it remains un-chopped. The frame appears to have started with American stamping rails with a tubular cross member. Model A front cross member. and Model A rear cross member to accommodate the "Culver City" Halibrand quick change which was polished and sent to Hailbrand for a complete rebuild. The gears seem to be in the 3. 54 to 3. 78 area. The brakes on all four corners are 40 juice brakes. the fronts with Buick finned drums. The car features "Posis" transverve springs front and rear. The axle is So-Cal chromed and drilled. with chromed backing plates. The quick-change is suspended by Pete and Jakes ladder bars. The drive train consists of a Chev. 350 290 hp crate motor with Edebrock intake and carb topped with a 1964 GTO air cleaner. and exhausting thru Lakes headers from Matt. The transmission is a rebuild turbo 350. Cooling in by a Walker radiator and electric fan. The steering is vega cross-steer. The steering column 54 F-100. The wheels are real 40 wheels with Coker reproduction Firestones in 4. 50-4. 75-16 on front and 7. 50-16 on the rear with 46-48 Ford caps. The car has a clear 32 Ford Cpe title. The interior is made up of a traditional tuck and roll design in black and white. glide seat. nbsp;So-Cal insert with S-W Wing gauges. So-Cal 3-spoke wheel. and lokar shifter. The car has smoked tint windows. I recently had the car pin-striped by "Relic" a known up and coming pin-striper from Minnesota. The trunk is also finished. The headlights are Guise 903's and the taillights are 50 Pontiac's. So to finalize. if you are looking for a nice ol-school ride you can jump in and drive the wheels off. I think this may be it.
