AM Radio. Power Steering. Tilt Wheel. Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS Only 1950s cars can wear pink. and as this 1955 Ford Crown Victoria proves. it has the right curves to really pull it off. Classically dressed. this nicely detailed and well-finished Crown Vic captures the perfect 1950s vibe of sock hops. drive-ins. and doo-wop music on the radio. all in a very appealing package. I know pink isn't for everyone. but colors on cars like this hold a very special appeal. This one was not originally this color. but the two-tone combination of cream and tropical rose is entirely appropriate on the flashy Ford and definitely looks like it belongs there. Of course. with this much attention-grabbing charisma. they made sure to get the bodywork nice and straight before applying the pastel hues and despite a few years of hitting the local cruise nights. it still looks great. They used factory break lines on the body to make it authentic and that sweeping stainless side spear provides the perfect place to separate the colors. All the stainless and chrome was obviously restored when the car was painted. and it glitters like jewelry and fights the bright paint for your attention. Gorgeous bumpers with oversized guards. the wonderful Crown Vic "basket handle" wrapping over the roof. and classic concave grille give it a wonderful look that's impossible to ignore. The interior matches the bodywork. but it's a lot more subdued so it matches great. The patterns on the bench seats look authentic and someone did their homework when it came time to put everything together properly. That late-model tilt steering column and wheel aren't original. but installing the steering wheel upside-down like that gives it a whole new look that seems right for the funky '50s. The rest of the dash. however. is completely stock. including the rounded speedometer with Plexiglas window in the back and the three round pods in the center that handle heat. entertainment. and time. An aftermarket A/C system was installed and the low-profile vents under the dash pretty much stay out of sight. Everything is in very good shape. showing only very minor signs of use. and like the exterior. if you like the colors. you're going to love hanging out in here. The trunk is neatly finished with a simply spatter paint. but new mats are available to make it look correct. The 272 cubic inch Y-block V8 engine is correct for 1955 and provides decent performance and a bubbly attitude. It's correctly dressed in Ford Red engine enamel and wears correctly finished Ford valve covers. It's very fresh. so the engine enamel is bright and the exhaust manifolds have been coated to look good for years to come. A new Holley carburetor and dual exhaust add power and the A/C system was very cleverly integrated into the engine bay so that it looks almost stock. The underside is also nicely finished. with the pink floors making a great background for the satin black frame and suspension components. A car like this will. of course. include an automatic transmission and the original rear end hangs on a set of recent shocks. Glasspack-style mufflers offer a punchy '50s sound that's nice and mellow. and the original hubcaps are framed by 205/75/15 BFGoodrich whitewall radials. The only car that looks better in pink is the 1959 Cadillac. so if you like the '50s and want to get some attention. this is a wonderful car in which to do it.
