Description

Black plate southern California car built with a pro-touring/resto-mod theme. I purchased this car from the original owners nephew in 2006 near Pomona. California. It was an original paint. numbers matching. rust and dent free. but barely running survivor. I got a one day exemption from AAA and drove it home. about an 80 mile trip. It's an original 302 manual transmission car. built in Atlanta. and sold new at Keystone Ford in Norwalk Ca. in October 1970. hence the black plates. White with a blue bench when built. it's now Ford Vapor Silver with black buckets. It was completely dis-assembled and rebuilt at Witt Lincoln in San Diego. I'm the collision center manager there. and it's my personal car. It was built to be a fast. fun. comfortable toy with drive-ability and reliability in mind. It's turned out to be all that and more! It starts. stops. idles. runs cool. pulls hard to redline. purrs like a tiger going down the freeway. and makes jaws drop whenever I drive it. This a solid car with all original sheetmetal and trim. It was painted at the dealership using Spies/Hecker base-clear in 2007. The paint is in near perfect condition. but as with any driver car. it's got a few stone chips. Also. it hasn't spent a night outdoors since I bought it. it's either garaged at home. or covered in the bay next to my office on it's drive-on lift. I usually drive it once or twice a week to work & back ( 70+ miles round trip ) . and to various shows and rod runs around Southern California. I wouldn't hesitate for an instant to drive it across country. this car just goes! So. here's the scoop : -Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads-Crane 1. 7 ratio roller rockers-Crower power beast level 3 cam -Weiand Stealth intake-Holley Ultra DP 650 w/mechanical secondarys and electric choke-. 40 over 302 bottom end. balanced -ARP fasteners used throughout-Pertronix Billet distributor-FPA custom made long tube ceramic coated headers-Custom exhaust by Ed Hansons in Spring Valley with 2 1/2" x-pipe and Flowmaster 50's-March aluminum underdrive pulleys-Custom 4 row radiator. with new oem hoses-Made 277 RWHP BEFORE new intake & carb-dyno tuned by JBA in San Diego -Tremec 5-speed Manual transmission w 3. 27 first and . 68 o/d-3:55 Trac Lock. -balanced HD clutch & flywheel. -Custom driveshaft from San Diego Driveline -Chris Alston Varishock front coilovers with a choice of 2 spring plates for adjustable ride height-Fatman 2" drop spindles -Global West lower adjustable front trailing arms for proper caster on lowered front end (4. 5 degrees) 1 1/4" front sway bar -4 1/2 leaf rear springs. urethane bushings. KYB shocks (rear) -custom made rear panhard bar-quick ratio manual steering box-Power brakes. Front brakes 71-73 Ford single piston. Rear brakes- stock 11' Ranchero-Rushforth Live Wire wheels with custom back spacing: 18x8 front. 19x10 rear. -B. F. Goodrich G Force Sport tires : 235/45r18 front & 275/40r19 rear-hidden Alpine blue tooth CD sound system with kick panel built-ins and 10" sub -Corbeau full leather sport seats-custom dash with pad stitched to match seats-all new oe style carpet. headliner and door cards-3 point seat belts-Classic Auto air in-dash a/c system-Dynamat installed on entire interior-all new seals and weather strips -all new fuel lines and gas tank-yes. I do have both plates. -tons and tons of receipts. Like I said above. this car runs sweet. & pulls hard! . Adult driven. Never thrashed and no burnouts. You can pick this car up and drive it anywhere. A/C blows cold. heat blows warm. and the car eats up the miles. 2200 rpm @ 75 mph. This car turns heads where ever I drive it. In some of the pictures the car sits a little higher. It comes with the bits to adjust the suspension up an inch and a half or so in the front and back. It's easy. it just takes a bit of time and effort (it drives fantastic low. but in all honesty. it does drive better up a bit). If you wish. I'll lift up at no extra charge before you pick it up.
