For sale is our '92 Feature convertible. A daily driver for my college age son. at 21. he's wanting something he doesn't want to "tinker" with anymore. or worry about winter driving. I found this car in St. Louis at Mustang Specialty dealer over two years ago. Since my son had a '99 Taurus SHO. my hope was we would fix up an already decent car to show quality and have some fun with it during the summers. Well. as fate goes. the trans on the Taurus went south and this became his daily. After putting in a new TMI leather interior from National Parts Depot and buying a bunch of other parts. the "tinkering" stopped and it just became transportation going to the local community college and McDonalds for work every day. The car is a good honest car and shows much. much less than it's 131k miles. The Texas climate has been really good to the car. There is no rust and the car still wears it's original date coded plug wires which tested out great recently and even has it's 1992 date coded radiator hoses. The engine compartment is a time capsule. so if you want a car that can compete in MCA concours driven. you're just a little work away from that. The top is original and functional. including the '92 feature car only headliner. But. is showing wear. but does keep the interior dry. The top pump is shot. but I have a replacement that goes with the car. I have the pump unhooked for easy manual top up/down operation. The original carpet is nice. and the replacement seats look exactly as the originals. as TMI does a great job of matching the Ford upholstery. The car runs and drives great. The transmission shifts smooth. The car has no hard vibrations at speed. Everything functions with the exception of the typical worn lock cylinders. nbsp;working when it's hot and not when it's cold. nbsp;and the heat/ac only comes out of the defroster ducts. Either an unplugged vacuum plug at the hvac unit or a new hvac selector needed. Either way. easy and cheap. Tires have about 1/3 tread left and are all matching BF Goodrich's. The door hinges have the typical Ford bushing wear. and the left rear window motor or regulator needs attention. I will include a new motor. A new top cover is included. Recently. it had it's ECU replaced. along with the fuel pump. fuel pump regulator. and TFI module. I struck out trying to figure out why the car would't start last year. and as it turned out. needed a new ECU. At least you needn't worry about all those parts!I have all receipts and a clear title. I would drive this car to California tomorow. It's that reliable. but needs a little easy TLC. As Mustang Monthly said about the car:"The Vibrant Red '92 Mustang "Summer Special" convertible was already a classic when it arrived on Ford showroom floors nearly two decades ago. These limited-edition drop-tops can be considered a seed of greater benefit during the adversity of declining Mustang sales in the early 1990s. when production dropped from 128. 89 in 1990 to 79. 80 in 1992 amid product stagnation and a Gulf War economy. Ford was on the edge of pulling the plug on the Mustang because sales were the worst in the carline's history. The special convertibles. also known as "Feature Cars. were a flash in the pan to boost sales. yet they are also among the most memorable Mustangs ever produced. "This is a future collectible and for not a lot of money. can be a really nice show car or fun driver. A GREAT foundation is there. The original paint is decent for it's age and buffs up nicely to a nice shine. There is a very soft slight dent in the trunk lid face that I didn't even notice until after I had the car for a week or so. Should be fixed "paintless" easily. I doubt you will find a nicer example of a collectible Fox Mustang for the money. Check my feedback. I sell what I describe and do everything I can to make my buyers happy. I've bought and sold over a dozen cars on eBay and have always had a good experience either way. Thanks for looking and please call me. Dan Aiken at 812-325-2827 on my cell phone if you should have any questions about the car. I am a life long Mustang enthusiast. having owned over 30 Mustangs through the years. Currently we have a 1979 Mustang Pace Car and a new 2015 Mustang in the driveway. along with two Indy 500 Ford trucks. both 1994 and 1979. We are a Ford family and take pride in our vehicles. Don't be discouraged by the description. When you see this car in person. you will know it not only looks great and is a great buy. but with a little work. will be worth twice it's buy it now price. I just want my fellow Mustang enthusiasts to have no surprises. Thanks for looking!
