At first glance. it looks pretty stock. right? Well. take a good. long look because this is no garden-variety Mustang; it packs big horsepower and a bunch of cool tweaks to make it the sleeper's favorite late-model muscle car. The Legend Lime paint is a tribute to Lime Gold from the '60s. and it should be no surprise that it works exceedingly well on the retro-looking 2006 Mustang. You've seen a few around that look a lot like this one. right? Now look closely. First. it's pretty much immaculate. completely showroom new and totally untouched. The wing on the deck lid isn't stock. but close enough to pass for OEM. Oh. wait. check out the roof. which has been painted black to blend in with the rear window and give it a very unique. but subtle look. And it has been totally de-badged save for the running pony emblem on the front fenders. just to leave folks guessing as to what actually lives under the hood. So it's a total sleeper. and one that has been expertly crafted and beautifully maintained which not only enhances the sleeper look but the value of the total package. This is a seriously nice car. mods or no mods. The interior is much the same story: stock and immaculate. The black leather buckets emulate the 1967 Mustang that inspired the entire 2005 redesign. The dashboard is stock. with more retro design cues and big. round gauges that are easy to read. This GT is loaded with just about every option you could get. including power windows. locks. and driver's seat. cruise control. a tilt column. A/C. as well as a full array of airbags. You may have noticed the Cobalt gauges on the A-pillar. which are the only real tip-off that something special is going on under the hood. and yes. performance fans. they monitor boost and fuel pressure on a supercharged engine. Nice. right? The stereo is an AM/FM/CD setup that is powerful enough to make your ears bleed and there's no sunroof to make the body feel flexy and loose. critical for a car with this much horsepower. The trunk looks new. too. with factory materials and a reasonable amount of cargo space. This GT's original 4. 6-liter SOHC V8 engine has been enhanced by a Saleen Series VI supercharger. beefing the horsepower up to 455. and giving this unassuming Mustang a big block punch. The top-mounted roots-style blower looks quite OEM sitting there in the V of the engine and makes full boost before you can get your foot on the floor. A custom tune on the SCT tuner makes it run and drive like an OEM car. not like some home-built hot rod. and it seems happy on pump gas. A gorgeous X-pipe and Steeda exhaust system adds horsepower and sounds amazing. and a complete Steeda suspension with Tokico shocks gives it the handling to match its horsepower. You'll note that the chassis is so clean that the factory grease pencil markings are still quite visible. yet the only visible modification are those gorgeous chrome Penta wheels with 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 Goodyear radials. Complete with window sticker. owner's manuals. receipts ($47k total). and dyno sheets. this is one heck of an over-built Mustang. So don't judge a book by its cover. this is a ton of performance at a price well below the cost of duplication.
