The Thunderbird 390 Special V-8 combined with Ford's Cruise-O-Matic transmission is rock solid and dependable. With 300 horsepower under the hood, nd a 3:00 to 1 gear ratio, his T-bird accelerates and cruses effortlessly. Power steering and suspension is tight. Ride and cornering have been improved through the use of upgraded anti-sway bars. No bounce or float that was normal with cars fifty years ago. Power brakes allow you to stop with confidence. Front drums were upgraded to disk and the single master cylinder was upgraded to the dual cylinder introduced on later models for safety. As stated before, our purchase price includes original brake and sway bar setup boxed up in case you want it later.

One of the most dramatic aspects of the 1964 Thunderbird is the lighting of the instrument panel and its controls at night. It's truly beautiful. Controls and gauges are positioned so they're easy for both driver and front passenger to operate, nd lighted for clarity during darkness. Gauges provide information on oil pressure, uel level, ngine temperature, nd charging system performance. The 1964 Thunderbird introduced the linear speedometer, hich changes from a white bar to an orange bar with increasing speed. The quality of the instrument panel picture, sn’t that great, ecause if you look closely I took it while driving down the road at about 73 mph! Windshield wipers are hydraulic and operated off the power steering system. Factory air conditioning, eater and power vents are included for comfort. Swing away steering wheel and automatic release parking brake are included for convenience. Front seatbelts have been converted to shoulder straps for safety.

The automatic convertible top is in excellent condition and its operation is a sight to behold. After releasing the front latches, imply hold down the button and a myriad of things happen with the end result being the top completely hidden in the trunk. You’re left with a clean aerodynamic look with no cover to snap in place like many convertibles.
