My father bought car from a consignment lot in 1961 and we later learned the motor and suspension were not stock but were built for police. Probably this is the only true police interceptor T-bird built, ertainly the only one left. Engine rebuilder estimated 352 cube engine at 400 HP. Car is 100% original, ll serial numbers match for 1958. Mallory ignition/coil, utometer tack (replaces original clock) and Autometer speedometer (replaces original). All original parts come with sale. Car has always be titled with regular license for regular driving but always stored in winter. Underbody showing light rusting, nside rear quarters repaired in 1990 restoration. Seats reupholstered with 1990 restoration, oor upholstery excellent and original. Body all original. Paint on roof is original factory. Continental is not Ford but aftermarket, suppose someone added it to help in selling in 1961. This is a one of a kind 58 T-Bird in excellent running condition and ready for another cosmetic restoration. I have been driving this car since my father bought it and am ready to part with it. The front suspension is modified for police use. Ford confirmed the car was used by the PA state police when we had trouble getting the correct suspension parts after a minor accident it 1962.
