Description

This pretty 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 is probably the smartest buy in our showrooms today. Fastbacks are red hot, nd this one is priced right. Better still, t's almost completely stock, rom the lovely Wimbledon White paint to the recently rebuilt C-code 289 cubic inch V8. If you want a clean California Mustang that's ready to enjoy or as the blank canvas for something extraordinary, his is your car.Code M Wimbledon White is this car's original color according to the data plate on the door and there aren't many choices that look better on an early Mustang. It was repainted a few years ago, o it's not perfect and fresh, ut it does have that wonderful well-loved look that the best old Mustangs seem to get. Hailing from California, ou know the steel underneath has had an easy life and it shows in the good panel gaps, risp details, nd no-stories. The paint has a few signs of age, ut nothing that warrants attention today, o all you need to do is get in and go. It hasn't been dressed up with fake Shelby stripes, t's not wearing GT gear that it shouldn't have, t's just a really clean, onest pony that happens to be the most desirable body style of the most desirable year. Nice chrome bumpers look great against the Wimbledon White paint and it comes by those '289' badges honestly, ecause it's a real C-code car. The real treat is inside, here you'll find a handsome Parchment interior instead of the usual (and expected) basic black. It's standard upholstery, ot the Deluxe "Pony" setup, nother nod to this car's honesty. It does, owever, eature a center console, hich makes any Mustang feel sporty and upscale. Everything inside is in very good condition and with no deviations from stock specs, t's an easy place to hang out. Even the color-matched steering wheel remains in good condition. Standard Mustang gauges are a familiar sight and were 1965-only, o again, his car hasn't been tarted up with off-spec equipment. The seats are comfortable, he dark carpets look great, nd the back seat folds down to add cargo space. Even the original AM radio is still in the dash. The trunk is probably mostly original, nd includes a correct plaid mat and a jack assembly.Although this car is a C-code, t now wears a 4-barrel carburetor for horsepower reasons, ut the original carburetor, ntake manifold, alve covers, nd air cleaner are included in case you want to go 100% stock. Nevertheless, t has a very authentic look under the hood, ncluding chrome dress-up parts and correct decals to give it a performance look. The block is black as it should be on an early car, nd with a giant aluminum radiator and upgraded water pump, ou don't have to worry about keeping cool in the heat. Otherwise it's completely stock and runs great. The C4 3-speed automatic transmission shifts neatly and with 2.80 gears in the 8-inch rear end, t's a great cruiser. A new dual exhaust system and fresh shocks round out the equipment list on a car that's impressive in just about every way. Correct steel wheels and Mustang hubcaps are framed by 195/75/14 whitewall radials to complete the low-key look.Solid, lean, nd ready to enjoy, his handsome V8 fastback has a lot going for it. Don't miss this opportunity, ecause quality 2+2s aren't going to be this affordable ever again. Call today!
