Consul Capri 1962 English Ford rare classic rust-free California car runs well

This rare and unusual car is a 1962 English Ford Consul Capri. It has a clear title and is currently registered in California. It is left hand drive with a floor shift. It is a model 110E, he Vin #Z38B-458472, aint code BH, rim 148A and has a body tag reading TC/149/A. Another body tag reads “322/ LHD 3100”. It has the 1340CC engine. The mileage is 86954 miles. It has what appears to be the remains of the original paint (it doesn’t look as glossy as in the photos, t just had a bath.), Motorola AM radio, spare tire, nd the original jack.
This car was parked in a barn in 1971, nd will need more work,(hopefully a full restoration) but it now runs and drives. It does not include the 5 Lbs of almonds the mice hid inside. Oddly, hey did not eat the wiring and the harness looks good.
I have rebuilt the carburetor, e-brushed the starter,installed new radiator hoses, ut rebuild kits in the hydraulic clutch system, nstalled new brake hoses, nstalled a battery, nd put lightly used tires on it. It shares many parts with other English Fords such as the Cortina and Anglia.
You are welcome to have an appraiser or mechanic come and inspect the car at your expense. I was the mechanic, achinist, nd welder fora well known nearby Lotus shop for many years, nd know a bit about English vehicles.
THE GOOD; It runs well, oes not smoke, oes through the gears without noise or problems, andles reasonably well, nd does not appear to be missing any parts not listed below. It is rust-free, xcept for a 2 inch hole in the inner fender wall by the battery and another in the muffler. The missing hubcap and ring have been replaced, nd the Anglia cap has found a new home
THE BAD; The brake system needs to be rebuilt, he Master should be rebuilt and i expect the slaves and calipers to start seeping. I replaced all brake hoses. The fuel tank is heavily clogged with varnish and crud, nd needs to be boiled out. I installed a 3 gallon marine gas tank in the trunk to test drive it, nd that is included and will work for safe transport. Both bumpers have damage and one over-rider is missing. There are minor dents all around, nd the left side need extensive body work. The interior is serviceable, ut shabby, t least it will make good patterns for re-upholstery.The vinyl dash has cracked, ut they fixed it with electrical tape! The Ashtray is missing. The gas cap is missing. The ignition switch was replaced, oorly. The radiator will need to be re-cored.The trunk lock cylinder has been forced open and works but won’t lock. There is no key for the doors either and the left side lock is probably inside the door.The good used tires I installed are studded snow tires, reat for moving it around and ice racing, ut noisy and perhaps not road legal where you live. You can always pull the studs out with wirecutters and use them for rally racing.

THE UGLY; Did I mention the left side? There is very light surface rust in many places where the paint has failed or otherwise been removed.
