Back in the 60's, s the world was changing, etroit made their cars a little different from the 50's. As we became more streamlined so did the automobiles we drove. The 1964 Ford Galaxie was the perfect example of where we came from and the direction we were going. The car was sleek, ad ample power and appealed to a wide audience of buyers. With its low back and bullet front end, t looked fast just sitting still. Even today and in today's market these cars are still strong in value and always are recognizable at any show or cruise night. This particular vehicle has a very special interest added to it because it has been completely renovated with a 2003 Mustang GT drive-train(motor/trans). Plus, ith its new found power and efficiency, he stop still goes down which drives the price up. Now there is reliability, omfort and that old fashion feeling while driving with the top down remembering the good ol'days!!
The owner of this 1964 Galaxie 500 is also the owner of one of the most successful auto repair shops in PA. People travel for miles to see him because of his integrity, onesty and experience with fixing anything from old street rods, o classic cars to the most modern day technology that you can put in the car. With hardly any free time, ne day he decided to take a legendary car from the 60's and give it a heart transplant with an already powerful, one stock 2003 Mustang GT drive-train. The donor car only had 50,000 miles on it, ut the owner wanted a challenge to make the 1964 Galaxie computer literate. So he moved all the electronics and computer for the drive-train over to the 64. This car can be driven anywhere there are roads. It is efficient, owerful, nd reliable and sounds AWESOME!! To set off the appearance of the car, he owner has added the 20" Shelby wheels.
The body of the car is decent for its age. The floors, rame and trunk pan are original and solid. Lower quarters were added long before the current owner bought the car. The body is certainly a 20 footer with some dings, hips and blemishes, ut its a good starting basis for a ground up restoration. Very good driver quality and solid. The interior has been well maintained and seats and carpet were redone. The car was originally a 3 on the tree, ut was converted to a 5 on the floor with a Hurst shifter. The convertible top is brand new and all the hydraulics and electrics work perfectly. All the gauges work as they should and the glass is all original and in excellent condition. The car has its original seat belts that shows how we took the time back in the day on details. The pictures will give you a great idea of the condition of the interior.
The drive-train again is out of 2003 Mustang GT including the 5 speed tranny. There are drum brakes all around, nd just because everyone said it couldn't be done, he owner added hydra-boost brakes makes this car stop on a dime with older braking technology. Also, he a/c compressor is installed under the hood, ou would just need the box and lines and everything beyond the compressor to make it work. The car couldn't be more reliable and it really does look good. The car is an absolute great investment for someone that wants to enjoy a reliable car yet have some weekend father/son projects.
Payment - we require a $250 deposit immediately after auction ends. Payment in full within 7 days of end of auction. The car will remain in a climate controlled garage until funds have cleared.
