Want a super cool cruiser that's ready to show? How about one with some of the best vintage styling ever draped over two doors and four tires? If the answer is a resounding "YES", his 1937 Ford Cabriolet is exactly the car you've been searching for! With its reliable Chevrolet V8, mooth automatic transmission and stunning Red on Sand color combination, his custom is an ideal classic for anyone who enjoys exploring the open road. If you're looking to add a little spice to your weekend routine, ere's the perfect way to take Sunday drives to a whole new level!
Assembled from the ground up, his awesome street rod's smooth and solid fuselage began life as high quality Downs fiberglass that was carefully molded, tructured and streamlined into a top notch roadster. Once that resin completely cured, t was bathed in a vivid coat of brilliant red two-stage. And today, ith nary a ripple or misaligned panel anywhere, his positively evil Ford mixes enough utility to hush old school skeptics with enough polish to be front row at the local car show!
The beauty of a well-done custom is often found in the simplicity of its execution. In a nod to the hobby's old school hot rodding roots, he best cars are usually topped with a stripped down, ll business body that emphasizes their purpose-built, igh performance nature. So, hen you craft a first class offering like this sweet '37 Ford, he best thing to do is let its original curves do the talking and simply enhance what's already there. Our enhancements begin with flowing fiberglass fenders, hich center a billet grille between old school chrome-trimmed headlights. Behind that grille, lightweight hood anchors smoked glass between small mirrors, illet heat extractors and a tan cloth top. Below that glass, haved doors seal solid along smooth fiberglass running boards. Behind those boards, lush-fit tail lamps ride between a shaved decklid and polished exhaust tips. And overall, he car's clean build creates one cohesive classic that, espite significant customization, s both tasteful and easily recognized.
In the auto enthusiast world, here are few bigger faux pas than something that promises performance but doesn't deliver. "It looks fast" just doesn't cut it with real car guys, o the old school flathead Ford that might traditionally power this drop-top has officially been swapped for a fully detailed GM LT1 V8. At the front of the low-profile mill, modern serpentine system spins a polished alternator and polished AC compressor above a reusable filter element. Once air enters that filter, t flows through a bowtie-branded throttle body into a factory LT1 intake, hich is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by a GM electronic fuel injection system. Sparks are sequenced through high performance Taylor plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic-coated block hugger headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a heavy duty aluminum radiator that's complete with a quick-spinning electric puller fan. On the visual end of the spectrum, ed injector covers and chrome valve covers nicely complement the car's bright exterior paint while covering the less attractive part of GM's block design. The glossy engine compartment has been completely jammed and detailed to match that bright exterior paint. And niceties such as braided hoses, rick dipsticks and a glossy clamshell hood add the kind of flash that starts conversations and wins fans.
Naturally, his Ford's fully-finished body rides on a fully-boxed chassis that's been assembled to exacting standards. The proven LT1 torques a tough TH700R4 4-speed, hich spins a familiar Ford 9-inch. That custom drivetrain pushes a road-ready suspension, hich tracks a high quality Heidt's-style front-half with traditional leaf springs, ough lowering blocks and chrome Pete & Jake's shocks. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to power-assisted discs at all four corners. At the center of the floor, .5-inch true-dual exhaust breathes through aluminized pipes and throaty Flowmaster mufflers. At the corners of the chassis, olished American Racing Torq Thrust IIs turn 205/45R16 Goodyear Eagle F1s in front of 235/60R17 Goodyear Eagle LS. And everything, rom the car's floor-mounted brake booster to its beefy rear sway bar, s well-planned, ell executed and ready to work its magic!
Pop this roadster's lightweight doors and you'll find a custom leather interior that mixes comfort with simplicity. At ground level, and carpet weaves a thick cover beneath billet foot pedals, nd piped and color-keyed floor mats. At the center of that carpet, eather-wrapped thrones appear to have been sourced from some of Detroit's more modern hardware. In front of those thrones, body-matched dash sports a full array of VDO gauges. At the sides of that dash, ustom door panels hang small power window switches between sculpted armrests and ergonomic handles. In front of the driver, polished APC steering wheel spins around a polished and tilting column. And behind the cockpit, surprisingly large trunk founds clean carpet in a Sand leather frame.
