Description

To look at and drive this 2002 Ford Thunderbird you would think it's inbrand new condition. I had my mechanic go over this car from front to back and he could notfindissues. I bought it from a gentleman from SC who just had too many cars. He also recently had major heart surgery and decided to cull his stable of cars down., His passion really is restoring "woodies". For those who may not be old enough to remember what a "woody" is, t's a station wagon built in the 50's that had real wood as it's side panels. The 3 I saw all were in show car condition. He has won several awards for the qualityof the restoration. Although this T'bird did not need to be restored in anyway he kept it as clean as his show cars. At one time he had up to 20 cars in like new condition. A few are in museums so he decided this pristine Thunderbird was one he was going to sell.

The history for the Ford T'Bird goes back to 1955. It was the car to have, ot the Corvette. But like most good ideas Ford gets they somehow ruin it. By 1958 it became a 4 seater and over the course of a few more years it became bloated andcompeting with other Ford cars in their line up so they dropped it. The retro model came out to rave reviews. Ford again didn't listen to what the customer wanted in a 2 seater and by 2005 sales where down to almost nothing so they dropped it again. The engine is based on the Jag J30 and the chassis and underpinnings are all Lincoln, s is the majority of the interior controls.

I don't know what else I can tell you about this specific car. Everything works at it should. Some say its slow, ll I know is it hits triple digits with ease. There is very little noise with the top up or down. A decent conversation can be held while the car is running at a solid 90 mph. I am selling it because my back went out and I am in pain. The car itself is just a fine, leasure to drive on nice days. Problem is it's too low which makes it difficult and painful for me to get in and out of it. I hate to sell it. I never thought I would be looking at an SUV"soccer mom" vehicle. So far I have not found any that suits my fancy with getting in or out of them or other reasons are stopping me fromdriving a 6 cylinder people carrier or a Hybrid. I know putting supercharger's on little engines is the trend the auto industry is doing. I still contend those tiny engines are being over stressed and will soon start to break down. Hybrids are just passing the energy production down the road to the big coal fired plants. In my opinion both of the alternatives offered today sound good, ut at the end of the day will wind up poluting more. These are just stop-gap measures to a much larger problem. It justmakes you feel good and helping the environment when you buy a hybrid or a stressed out tiny engine. Fact is you are not helping the environment you are reallydoing the opposite and polluting more.

The white spot you see on the front was caused by me. I misjudged where the front of the car was and hit my garage wall. That is white paint on black. Not damaged black paint. It justneeds to be gentlyremoved with a good cleaner that won't damage the black paint. Or you could mount the fron license plate holder and hide the white paint.

Questions via email are welcome about any and all issues. Thanks for bidding. The winner will have a big smile on their face when they drive it. Regardless of what the books say, his car according to some people is already considered a classic and prices are going up as there are fewer and fewer of these in nice clean shape to buy.The dealers have a few they are selling cheaply because they have had the snot beat out of themand probably need some major restoration work. Most have high mileage. If you find a good one buy it before the price goes up. The old law of supplyand demand is at work on these cars.
