1955 Ford Thunderbird Base Convertible 2-Door 292 Automatic Great Driver!

This car was purchased by the previous owners out of California in 1974. At that time it was a very nice un-restored car and has been garage kept since then. It is believed that the 77,483 miles is actual, ut there is no way to prove that.
The car was repainted in 2006 and the paint quality is very good. The body is extremely straight. I don't believe the car has ever had rust issues. The floor pan, ower quarters, ody braces, nd the frame all look excellent. The only flaws I see on the body is that they didn't prep the bottom of the hood very well so some of the paint is peeling. (See pictures) This car had sat in storage for years and something must have been swinging and brushing up against the car, s there is some very light damage (very small scuffs and dings) in the driver's fender and door. I will post a picture of that damage but it may be hard to see. I did not notice it for a week, nd even then until I had it in the right light.
The drivetrain is a 292 with the original automatic transmission and rearend. The car was stored with inadequate antifreeze and the original block cracked. A complete fresh 292 was installed and has been driven less than 50 miles. The brakes have been replaced and the car runs and drives excellent.
The seat had been reupholstered and looks good. The car has manual windows with a 4 way power seat. To be super nice it needs door panels and carpet, hich can be purchased new at a very reasonable cost.
This T-bird comes with a hardtop which is nice except for a couple of tears in the headliner which again can be replaced.
Overall, his is a very nice car. I would drive and show it just like it is, ut it would not take much to make this an excellent car.
