This auction is for an exceptionally nice “A” code1966 Mustang 2+2 Fastback, ith factory 4-speed transmission. It received a full frame-off restoration approximately six years ago. The car has been carefully restored to “as new” condition. Here is your chance to get a top-notch Mustang 2+2 Fastback that’ll bring home a trophy at the next Mustang event.
The car was built at the Dearborn, ichigan Assembly Plant on March 11, 966 and then shipped to Los Angeles, alifornia and spent the majority of the next forty-five years there. During the frame-off restoration, ll the original body panels were retained and were in excellent condition, s would be expected on a West Coast car. This is a rock solid Mustang, ith zero rust.
The mustang was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The entire drivetrain was rebuilt. The body of this vehicle still wears all the original sheet metal and the body fit is laser straight and better than new. Once the body was prepared, t was given a fresh coat of the correct Ford – Candy Apple Red (code T), sing the best modern base coat clear-coat paint. The chassis was also stripped and all components were replaced and refinished in the correct original factory finishes. The chrome and all the bright work is in perfect condition.
The “A” code 289 4bbl engine is a replacement, ith all associated parts completely rebuilt. The engine compartment was upgraded with the Ford chrome “dress-up” kit, onsisting of chrome valve covers and air cleaner, s was an Edelbrock Performer intake. This car runs and drives great.
All the exterior emblems were replaced with either new or NOS pieces. The radio was upgraded to a modern am/fm, ith an original look and capabilities for plug-in MP3. The restoration on this Mustang is “factory correct”, ight down to the proper Ford Road Wheels, ith redline radials mounted, o make for an exceptional smooth riding and comfortable car.
This is a top notch car that is worthy of going to a good home! It will make a “star” addition to any car collection and a great cruiser, ith lots of eye appeal.
